Since my team is the Minnesota Grey Ducks, it would make natural sense for us to excel in a water based enviornment. However, there are many other water related mascots, like silverfish, otters, and seawolves. To give us ducks an even greater advantage, we would need to take advantage of us ducks being able to walk and swim. A swamp setting would be perfect, since there would be too much clutter for a mascot that depends soley on water to move efficiently. However, any mascot unfamiliar with water would have trouble navigating the terrain too. Playing football in a swamp is a challenge that ducks would be able to uniquely excel in (since OCO won't do well no matter what terrain we play on Tongue). Ducks would be able to quickly swim and waddle through the swampy lands, a feat few others can claim. If all else fails, us ducks can always just fly too.

A field obscured by fog.  Yellowknife field should be shrouded in fog as the wraiths materialize and dematerialize at will.  This would take blocking to a whole new level when you could obscure the vision of the other side.  Waiting for the block to develop but also waiting for that vision to be obscured as the wraith dematerializes for a split second freezing the defender in his tracks as they are unsure if the ball carrier will cut right or left.  This could wreak havoc upon offenses as well as you could obscure and hide your blitzers on the defensive side.  Everybody loves a good snow game, and imagine playing on a foot and a half of snow packed field in the obscured fog filled field.  This would benefit the run heavy Wraiths.  A snow foggy filled field would cut down the passing game immensely and with the Wraiths being able to use their three headed beast of a running attack in Wilson, Blundetto, and Van Goff would just be a monster to deal with.

One of my favorite movies of all time is Ender's Game, so I'm picking the same zero-G field that the battle games in that movie take place in. The diamonds can act as a place for the ball to 'rest' before the snap. Tackling could be done by hitting the ball carrier with the freeze pistols given to cadets in the movie. Suddenly defense is less of a test of agility, being able to read the defense and either jump in front of the pass or meet the ball carrier before they reach the line to gain. Instead you're looking to snipe the ball carrier, so vision and aim becomes a much more impactful facet of the game. With the added third dimension to the game, plus using diamonds for cover, means smaller players can become more impactful. Bachira could use their shorter stature as well as some agility from their dribbling skills means that he could get around blockers easier and get a lot of 'tackles'.

For the New York Silverbacks the obvious answer is clearly the jungle tree tops. A unique playing field with a huge impact on how a team would gameplan for the week. The pass game would be almost non-existent due to the thick shrubbery and foliage while players would need to rely heavily on their strength and agility to navigate through the limbs. A unique rule would need to be implemented for dropped balls. Would it be better to have a mad dash to the ground before quickly throwing the ball back up or would it be considered out of bounds? I personally think treating it as out of bounds would be much better for the flow of the game and could create some very unique situations like intentional dropped balls to a lower limb where a teammate was patiently waiting. Overall I think it’d be a very exciting and original version of the ISFL.
