For me, this league started out more as a fantasy football thing: just something to stretch my mind in some fun competition over something that doesn't really matter. However before too long I saw that it does really matter to some people and that the connections with others are what the league is really about. We see that all the time in the league where we put reputation and connections above almost everything else, even when it might not make sense like drafting. So, for me, I think the real success is really have a good reputation in the league, enjoying the connections you make with others, and then, hopefully, giving back to the league in a meaningful way. I think that we do a good job of focusing on that through things like user hall of fame as well. All of that is why it makes me so upset to see people cheating for wins and losses (honestly as far as I can tell it doesn't happen that much) and treating each other terribly (happens way more often). In fact, the teams and users that speak out the most about having the right attitude and not being a dick are often the users that are the quickest to bitch and complain about someone right behind their back or not hesitate to slander an entire team or group of users. This kind of thing is just as destructive to the league and is a great example of being "unsuccessful" in my eyes.
