I'm all about winning, even when it's as small of a competition as bringing the best gift to the exchange. The easy way to be at the top of the pack is to get something that everyone would want that's also versatile - something like a gift certificate to a steak house I know that people on the team likes. That's a little too much like cash for my preference for this kind of exchange, though, so I'm thinking that a wood chip assortment and spice blending kit appeals to the same interest while being a bit more meaningful. I don't know anyone on the team who doesn't like BBQ, though I don't know if everyone has the patience to smoke their own. Still, I think that would be a great fit for people who do have an interest and so I think it would be one of the popular gifts. As far as stealing, I'm also looking for something flexible and interesting. If someone has put hard work into a gift - making a scarf in the team colors or something - then I'm also interesting in getting those kinds of things. The personal connection is a great story later on when I'm showing whatever it is to people.

Oh man, if NOLA held a White Elephant exchange, it'd be a pretty wild party! Everyone would be eating beignets and just enjoying some nice Christmas jumbalaya. I think Passarelli would probably bring one of those LEGO minifigure packs that would contain a customer minfigure of a random NOLA player, past or present. I think it would be a fun way to celebrate the history of the team as well and give someone on the team a nice little memento that they can keep wherever. I don't know if Passarelli would actively try to steal anything from his teammates at the party, even if that's the part of the event, but he'd definitely have his eyes on what JoeSteel would be trying to get. After the crushing fantasy win by Passarelli last season over JoeSteel, it's been fun to rib one another, and I think this exchange would be a good way to keep that going.

Luigi would probably bring a good old Super Mushroom. It fulfills all the criteria of a good White Elephant gift: small and compact in a shape that's not recognizable if put in a box, not very expensive (in fact, extremely common and cheap in Luigi's homeland), and the most important thing, extremely funny the moment someone touches it and grows to twice their height until hit. Thankfully your clothes grow with you, or it might be a bit much of a prank. He also has a good supply of Mushrooms in case someone accidentally touches it. Luigi doesn't have much that he's looking to get in return, though he's always been interested in mushrooms used for cooking instead of becoming more powerful or granting resurrection. They're probably not likely to show up in a gift though, so instead Luigi's planning to pick up the classic of a literal White Elephant to remember his recent adventure in the Flower Kingdom.
