(S23) - Ultimus Week - AL_GRINGO - 07-30-2020

Tier 2 Task #8

When looking towards the future of my team the San Jose Sabercats I think we have a lot of things that we can work on to improve. We also have a lot of young talent that is continuing to develop. Our defense seems to be our strong suit as we have a major of our top earners on that side of the ball. We just recently resigned San Jose Sabercat Legend Tony Brackenridge to continue to terrorize offenses with corpsegrinder at the linebacker spot. When paired together they make two of the best linebackers in the league. We finished in the top 5 in the league for total yards and passing yards on defense. This is huge considering we finished dead last with a record of 5 and 11. If we can make some improvements to the offensive side of the ball and continue to have a strong defense this team can make a lot of noise in the next few seasons. One of the players I enjoy the most as a teammate is Lawrence Bass. This guy is always positive and trying to have a good time. He is what every coach hopes his players will be like. Shows up every day and is a positive influence on all of his teammates. Our offense was horrible last season so we can only go up from here. I think that Monty Jack will start to have some great performances next season and that will be huge for us to get back into the winning column. I think we should try to draft more game-breakers on offense so skill positions. I think a solid WR or TE would help us a lot next year. Also just as important to me is the safety position. I think our defense is already pretty good but if we added a ball-hawking safety that could be the difference from a good defense and a great defense. Either way, I have loved my time in San Jose and think that our GMs do a great job of not only bringing together the best talent they can but also making sure all of us are enjoying the league. I don't see corpsegrinder going to another team anytime soon and I am excited to see what is in store for the future of this team. Their conference is very tough but they have the defense needed to end up in the playoffs very soon.

Tier 3 Task #22

So there is a new skills competition in the ISFL and every pro bowler has to do. I think it would be fun to test some non-athletic skills for each player. Maybe something like an eating contest would be fun. who could eat the most hot wings would be a fun bonding moment for all the players. I also think a board game competition would be fun for the league. Find a number of different games that are classics that everyone knows. then have a large tournament between all the players to see who is the best. This could be done in the downtime between practice and the game. Like when everyone is just chilling at the hotel. I think it would also be cool to include the whole staff so the trainers and coaches too. This could help to create lasting memories with players on different teams. I think also a pickup basketball game would be fun to watch. Since basketball is a very athletic sport like football i think a lot of the ISFL players would be very good at the sport. We could even do a 3 on 3 tournaments so there is not so much cardio and physical activity. Overall I think everyone would just have fun.
