The most improved player of season two is Erasmo Broadway, a linebacker for the Baltimore Hawks. Last year Broadway was swapped between defensive end, strong side linebacker, and weak side linebacker. The uncertainty of where he was going to play week to week no doubt damaged his confidence and in turn hurt his production. This season has brought much more stability. Now every week Broadway knows he will be playing the same position. As a weak side linebacker he is able to maximize his athleticism and intelligence in the three most important aspects of the position: pass coverage demonstrated by his ten pass deflections and two interceptions, pass rushing proved by eleven sacks, and run support with his 105 total tackles and six tackles for loss. Going into the season the Hawks wanted him to stop thinking so much and just fly around and make plays. It is safe to say he has done just that. He is a lock for the pro bowl and will be a candidate for linebacker of the year. Many players have been responsible for the vast improvement in Baltimore's improved play in season two, Broadway is arguably the tip of the spear on the defensive end. (202)

From briefly looking over the stat sheets, it seems to be me that the most improved player would be tight end George Wright Jr of the Orange County Otters. Just looking at his stats from Season 1 compared to his stats in Season 2 so far, it seems very easy to see in my opinion:

(Stat Category Season 1 Season 2)
Receptions 51 79
Yards 336 504
Average Yards per Catch 6.6 6.4
Touchdowns 0 3

As you can see, George Wright Jr has improved in every single receiving category this year other than average yards per catch. The trade off, however, is more receptions, yards, and touchdowns. While his blocking stats have decreased slightly, George Wright Jr has established himself as a solid tight end and a contributing member of the Orange County Otters’ offense after having an extremely small role last year. While many of these stats can be attributed to the fact that he’s starting much more often or by scheme changes, you can’t really argue that he has not improved significantly from season 1 to season 2. While not flashy, and probably not even the “most” improved player, George Wright Jr’s improvement has been significantly significant.

(08-21-2017, 02:08 PM)Dermot Wrote:Zobot Bigboy17. A man of little words, no input and even less potential. His stats last year? 14 games played, 36 pancakes, and 5 sacks allowed. This year? with 12 games played he has 12 pancakes and 4 sacks allowed. Bigboy17 is on par to beat his previous season best if in the next two games he doesn't allow a sack while also obtaining 24 or more pancakes. We need him to get 12 pancakes a game versus the outlaws and the otters, many will scoff at this notion, after all Bigboy17 isn't even a starting offensive lineman for the Wraiths anymore! He's also been MIA since departing for Guatemala some weeks ago. In fact the longer I write this point task, the less I believe he can actually do it or the fact that he's improved from last year. On a more positive note one thing that has improved in Yellowknife ever since last year is the locker room environment. Without Bigboy17 around telling rookies to skip out on practice because "they're never gonna cut you and risk being the laughing stock of the NSFL?" or encouraging other players to follow his all fat diet plan. He claims that ever since he hit the 400lb mark, his play and ability to block has never been better. He's even went so far to claim that "Angus Winchester wishes he could have my athletic frame, if he did maybe he'd have 0 sacks allowed this year"

Dude, this is so underrated. I'm dying of laughter! I'm actually saddened that this could go unnoticed. Nice job!

To whom it may concern,

When you think of 'Most Improved Player' most people generally tend to think of players who actually PLAYED a game. I'm not most people. We like to think outside the box here at Buster Mimes' Agents and Grocery

In the course of just weeks, Erlich Burnsman went from a complete unknown entity with a gecko scandal to a legitimate number 2 FB on arguably the most complete team, on a roster (quite a ways) behind the leagues reigning MVP. He went from ramen to Rolls Royce.

What Burnsman lacks in snaps, stats, experience, and even passion, he makes up for with bat-s!*$ craziness. And that is the attribute most needed in the NSFL. We haven't seen a player like Erlich since the birth of the NSFL and we may never see one again... maybe for the best, because the league cant contain more than one of these men.

Already since becoming a free Agent Burnsman has become 14% faster, increased his catching ability by 20%, and even scored some dope new cleats that bring out the best in his footwork.. What else is there to say?

P.S. If anyone sees Erlich, remind him he owes me 20k for writing this letter. That kid should never see the field.

Colorado Yeti running back Boss Tweed has made big strides during his sophomore season. During Season 1, Tweed rushed for 547 yards and 1 touchdown. Through 13 games of Season 2, Tweed has rushed for 978 yards and 4 touchdowns. A big part of this has come from Tweed's elevation to a lead back role after splitting carries during his rookie season. Tweed has adapted well to the heavy workload and currently has the third highest rushing yards total among all running backs in Season 2. Tweed's rushing appears to be less efficient in Season 2 as his yards per carry has fallen from 3.7 to 3.6. However, this is part of a large trend of running backs in the NSFL seeing a large decrease in yards per carry. Among running backs with at least 100 carries, Tweed's YPC tied for 8th in the NSFL in Season 1. In Season 2, Tweeds YPC is tied for first in the NSFL among running backs with at least 100 carries. Not only is Tweed putting up some of the best rushing stats in the NSFL this season, he is doing it despite running behind what many believe to be the second worst offensive line in the league. If Tweed continues to improve, he may one day be in the discussion for best running back in the NSFL.

Quarterback Mike Boss is the most improved player of season 2.

Playing in 11 games last season, Boss ended up arguably the worst starting quarterback in the league. He had 2334 yards with 11 touchdowns and a staggering 19 interceptions, most in the league. Frankly he was terrible and those are statistics that make you want to change your starting quarterback.

But in season 2, Boss has shown what he can do. He leads the league in yards with 3348 and the season is not even over yet. And his once abysmal touchdown to interception ratio is much better, at 20 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

Obviously Boss still has a lot to improve, his 16 interceptions are a cause for concern, but he leads the league in yards and has the second most touchdowns and the second best quarterback rating. It is a vast improvement from last season.

Despite his improvement, the Orange County Otters have had similar success on the field. They went 9-5 last year and are 8-5 so far this season. It is certainly interesting, as you would expect a bigger jump in success. Nevertheless, Boss has been fantastic and deserves recognition for his vast improvements and will be one of the main candidates for MVP this year and probably for years to come.
