Yeah people tend to think of money as, well, money. But it's used for exactly one thing here in the NSFL, buying TPE. Especially early in the career, the opportunity to buy gear is a massive boon.

One should look at bank carry-over as TPE carry-over. If you come into the league as a RB recreate with $15M, for example, you can buy 4 types of professional equipment, and still have enough for 3 of the $1M (5 TPE trainings) for a grand total of 47 TPE. Compare that to a brand new rookie who gets $0 and a free training worth a total of 5 TPE. In this instance, you're essentially starting with 42 more TPE than a true rookie, nearly double what they start with. You start adding more TPE to that total, and new rookies start at a severe disadvantage.

Unless you recreate at the trade deadline in which case you are not allowed to purchase any equipment then.

Which is true but doesn't change my point. That season doesn't count towards regression, so when their first actual season starts, they're able to buy equipment right away. Same scenario.

But that hypothetical relies on a person retiring with that kind of money. Not everyone has the time to bank that kind of money. There are some of us who can't do the writing or jobs that would give us that kind of windfall. We have the dedication to play this game, but not for all the extras that would provide all that money. Some of us take lesser team friendly contract or are part of multiple leagues and can't be as dedicated, but still love this league enough to be active enough to get a player to regression.

And the money thing isn't really an adequate benefit. Because a person who signs up can write a huge media piece, a presser and make graphics and within a week have the equipment that the veteran had when he recreated. The veteran just was able to get that money before he recreated. It's not really a reward for being a veteran who brought his character to regression, which is what I am proposing.

This is ONLY for players who get a player to regression and recreate, not just any recreate. If you retire after four seasons, you currently get the same benefits as retiring after 9 seasons. I think that's ridiculous. Some incentive, and thanks for sticking it out is what I'm discussing.
