Quote:In 300 words or more, how has your experience been in the league? Who have you met that has made your time here more fun, friendly, and exciting? Have you been satisfied with your player’s early start? What was it like being drafted for the first time? Do you have any comments or suggestions for the entire league that you think should be implemented?

I’m very fresh, but the experience so far has been awesome! It’s great to see so much passion go into this league, and I’m excited to be a part of it. I enjoy how immersive it is, with scouts and GM’s reaching out to chat about being their pick in the draft. The prospect game was fun to watch, even though everyone’s stats are the same. In game three, I defended three passes and I was able to get the only sack for the Mambas with a corner blitz. I’m excited to get drafted to my next DSFL team and getting to know my teammates. It’s also very cool to see people making mock drafts with me in it.  I don’t have any comments or suggestions at this time since I’m just starting out, but this community seems so down to earth that if I had any issues, I’d feel fine about voicing my opinion. I’m excited to really dig into all the intricacies of what this sim has to offer. I’ve noticed all the job postings, fantasy football, off topic chats, all the in depth and well thought out graphics and media, but I’m probably just scratching the surface. I’m also interested in taking a league job or a job within the team, and I’m very interested in the managerial aspects of this sim as well, and having it all player run is a huge plus. Soon I’ll start digging into my players Wiki page. For now though, I’m going to take it slow and just build as much TPE and money as I can, I’m sure the longer I’m on here, I’ll naturally learn more. I don’t have any specific teams that I’d like to be drafted to, but Norfolk courted me early and it’s a great destination, so I’ll be a bit disappointed if I’m still on the board by their pick. If not, it’s just more fuel for the fire! All in all, I’m having a good time so far and can see myself being active for a long time to come.

Quote:Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league.

Zen Olson was a generational talent his Alma Mater James Madison University. Zen started playing football as a Junior at EasternSouth High, deciding to start his football career to follow in his father’s footsteps (Marley Olson) who played wide receiver at West Virginia University. Zen was known to grow up as a Baltimore Hawks fan, but his father would take him to Norfolk SeaWolves games, as they lived close by. Zen Olson was a track star his Freshman and Sophomore year, so much so that in states, he earned a silver and a gold in the 200 hurdles respectively. Zen stated he had more fun on defense, and the coaches at EasternSouth thought CB would be a good fit. Olson’s first season saw him breaking the schools pick six record with 5 pick sixes in the season. He finished his senior year with state honors and became a 3 star recruit according to highschoolrankings. Olson soon committed to James Madison University, as West Virginia originally didn’t want him as they “were already stacked at corners”. Olsons play over three seasons with the Dukes gave him 2 AP FBS player of the month awards, most notably he netted 386 tackles and 16 interceptions over three seasons, three for pick sixes. After finishing junior year, Olson declared for the DSFL draft. He’s hoping his unique skill set that earned him the name “the gazelle” will translate well to DSFL defenses. Coaches and teammates alike endorse Olson, saying his tenacity and fortitude was a huge presence in the locker room and the field, and he was an “absolute dog when the ball is coming at him.” He’s currently projected to be a first round pick in the DSFL draft, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Olsons plans for the upcoming season is to train hard and give his future team the best chance at victory, possibly competing for a future Ultimini. He does have aspirations to be a big presence in the ISFL once he fully develops in the DSFL.

9. . There have been many moments in league history where a single decision (e.g., a draft choice, a GM’s promotion or retirement, a trade, a player’s movement in free agency) may have changed the course of a team in the ISFL or DSFL. Describe a decision that was made and the impact that it had. Did you imagine said decision leading to a different conclusion or did you think things would turn out the way they did? Is there anything different you would have done to avoid disaster or make things even better?

Being reminded of my past player Leonardo McTurtle with the recent article by KDR brought back the memories of ending up on the Arizona Outlaws and the decision to join the team in free agency over sticking it out with the Orange County Otters. After being taken first overall by them in the Season 33 draft and being immediately called up there was a hope to be a career otter. But after a miracle run the very first season in which the Otters ended up coming up short in the finals after storming out to a 24-0 first quarter lead and ending up losing by allowing 24 points in the 4th quarter to lose 41-38 it led to the team spiraling a little bit. The next season which was supposed to be a building block they went on to have a losing record and finishing last with 5-11 record. And somehow getting worse the next year 4-11-1 record. It was clear there were changes happening on the back end with management and players that led to Leonardo to explore other options when his contract was up. When it came time and he would explore the market after his 4th season in OCO he joined the Arizona Outlaws where he would make an instant impact. He would make the swap to Linebacker instead of DE and would help lead the team to the first of 4 championships they would earn while playing for them. He would also go on to end up top 10 in sacks and have a defensive player of the game in the Ultimus. Looking back this move really sparked Leonardo’s career and kicked him into overdrive. If it were not for the move to Arizona and then to Linebacker he likely never would have made the Hall of Fame and road out most of his career on an regrettably average otters team. Looking back being removed from the player for a bit it is pretty crazy to see the career trajectory take place.

22. Written Option: If your player had a show starring them, what would the plot be?

The sweet life of Purdy Mediocre! With all the shows coming out on Quarterbacks and receivers isn’t it time we took a dive into the life of a running back!? The guys go through some of the most grueling punishment on the field. They go through every layer of the defense the big boys on the line the athletic freaks in the linebacker spots and even the DB’s and safeties. Not to mention when they don’t have the ball they are usually being used to stop one of those guys from getting to the quarterback! They are truly some of the most gifted athletes on the field and if Purdy had a show it would be all about recognizing that. Of course it would look off the field and the game prep and what all is involved in getting ready for each game not to mention the trainers and work the doctors do to ensure he is at his best each week! Look out for the new show Runningbacks!

Task 16 - team journey 7.5/10
Last season was an absolute whirlwind for the New York Silverbacks and Draven Chanos. After starting the season on a hot note at 4-1-1 with a tie against Arizona, the team went either very good or very bad down the stretch. Starting in week 5, the Silverbacks had nothing but streaks. Two wins, followed by two losses, followed by three wins, followed by three losses, followed finally by two wins to control their way into the playoffs in week 16 with a win over the Austin Copperheads. Once making the playoff, the Silverbacks once again knocked off the Arizona dynasty with a 35-28 win to go 2-0-1 against them for the season, then beat the Hahalua 24-16 to make their season record 2-1 against Honolulu. This landed a young and slightly overperforming Silverback squad in the Ultimus a couple seasons before they expected to be contenders, which was an absolutely amazing result on the season. Despite falling to the Hawks in the ultimate game of the season, the Silverbacks still performed superbly well. NYS was led on offense by mobile quarterback Elijah Dyson, who ironically finished last in the league in passing yards, though added another 744 on the ground for 3998 on the season to pair with 28 total touchdowns. New York's defense was led by Crazy Tomato, who topped the league in tackles with 143 and finished T-9th in sacks with 12, as well as threatening presences Perry Passiveman - 22nd in tackles - and DT Draven Chanos, who finished 3rd in DTs with 11 sacks, which was also good enough for T-13th in the league. These key pieces to New York's defense and in fact nearly their entire team is only going to continue to get better over the offseason training regimen and should be a much more fearful squad to watch next season, with Dyson maxing out his build, Chanos bulking up to nearly max out, and Passiveman and Tomato at the very least maintaining par for the course - not to mention the fearsome Drake Wane at cornerback. NYS will be out for blood next season, mark my words. (351 words)

Task 27 - alternate career 10/10
If Draven Chanos was not a defensive tackle for the New York Silverbacks of the International Simulation Football league, he would absolutely be an absolute stud at some kind of blue-collar job in the deep south of the USA. Though he enjoys New York, he has a bit of country in his blood and a good spirit in his soul that loves to help people. Draven would absolutely love to do undesirable jobs for far cheaper than bloodthirsty vultures, but do it well in order to help out those in his community and really those in need. He currently knows that a ton of people in Florida and North Carolina need a lot of help digging up and replacing sewer tanks, flushing lines, rebuilding foundations, all kinds of things that are long, tedious, and expensive, and he has donated a large chunk of his own money to a fund that helps pay for these repairs for families in need. He would do it himself as well if he did not play football, and will retire to this type of charity work when he reaches an age where he no longer performs at his best on the gridiron. (197 words)

This season, I've decided to make a team with each player's first name having a different letter of the alphabet. This should have given me 26 players to work with, but sadly there is no one in the league whose first name starts with the letter Y. Instead, I decided to fill the "Y" slot with a player who doesn't have a first name. Going alphabetically, Ali Star starts things off by anchoring our linebacking core. Bob Kronkowski is the best tight end in the league and was an easy choice for that slot. C had a lot of options but we went with Carter Goad to anchor the defensive line. Dewey Greenbeans is a straight up playmaker and slides well into our secondary. Emile Charles gives us a good receiver and kick returner. Federico Americano adds to our linebackers well. Of course, no team could be complete without GCBWRNW Princess Donut. Our first cornerback comes up next with Heiiajs D. Owidhuse. We get a Sailfish reunion as Ignatious Cleetington joins his teammate as we round out our linebacking squad. There were a lot of ways to go with J but it's only fitting to give it to Jay Cue III to ensure we got talent at quarterback. Our offensive line then kind of writes itself with Klaus Von Reinherz, Leonard Da Pinchi, McDripsen Dropsen, and Octavio Volarus. We skipped N there, so let's circle back and add Nick Williams to our receiving room. Purdy mediocre steps in as our lead running back. Quincy Robinson is our only choice for Q, but we'll happily take the youngster who might get a bit of run at fullback for this squad. Sadly, we do have to take Roquefort Cotswold with our R spot. They always say keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Seer Ial is the obvious choice for S because I'm always picking myself and we needed another talented receiver. Trent Thigpen rounds out our cornerbacks and should be able to show Cotswold how to have more than 2 good games in a season. Upceti Spaghetti gives us surprisingly strong talent out of the U spot. V gives us another talented youngster in Victoire Absolue to round off our safeties. Wing Wang is the easy choice for W and settles our kicking game. Xander Le Roux gets the X nearly by default. As alluded to earlier, there is no Y player, so we filled the spot by taking Baymax as our 5th offensive lineman. Finally, Z actually had a couple of good options but we went with Zigzag Zipstep to give us a big 1-2 punch at running back.

Big Strong Red Panda, TE, KCC @Lemorse7

Big Strong Red Panda was one of the top tight ends in the DSFL this season. Red Panda was a threat in the receiving game, catching 53 passes for 422 yards and scoring 3 touchdowns. He was even more lethal in the blocking game, racking up 36 pancakes, the most of all tight ends who also did not allow a single sack. Red Panda's first career touchdown came in week 5, where he scored from 13 yards out in the 3rd quarter to put Kansas City ahead of Tijuana for good as they won their 2nd game of the season. He followed that performance up with a career high 68 receiving yards the following week against Minnesota. Red Panda specializes in blocking, and with his technique and raw strength, he has the potential to be one of the best tight ends in the ISFL in just a couple of seasons. Anything he can add in the receiving game is just icing on the cake!

25.
Linkin Park has recently returned with a new lead singer, and what better way to show her off than at a huge half time show?! New song Heavy is the Crown is already the anthem for League of Legends, but it would also be great for a football game (especially if the reigning champions are looking to retain their crown). Linkin Park has many high energy hits to pump up the crowd with songs like Papercut, One Step Closer, Faint, Bleed It Out, etc. Mike Shinoda could also tap into his Fort Minor catalog and bring out Remember the Name. Heck, even bring out Jay-Z for Numb/Encore then let him flow out a rap or two as well. Maybe even just make the whole performance a chain of performers; let Jay-Z bring out Beyonce for Crazy in Love which could lead to a Destiny's Child reunion. Or you could go international: bring out Shakira for Beautiful Liar and let her cook. The possibilities are endless!
