*Jaylin hobbs pre draft interview - Jayhawk - 10-06-2018

Sometimes fate has a way of making things come together. Jaylin Hobbs left Michigan to play pro ball. However due to some paperwork mix up he missed being draft eligible and slowly found his way into free agency. It was there that Tijuana came looking for the Wide Receiver. Little did he know a few weeks later he would be holding a championship over his head!

“ You go from football program to football program and you learn what you can through the years but to be part of a championship team, there are no words to explain the experience you get, what you learn.” said Hobbs.

When Tijuana picked up the relatively unknown Hobbs from FA, all they knew was they were getting a Wide receiver with speed and good hands. This quiet Wide receiver however goes about his business and makes his touches count.

In 6 games Hobbs had 10 receptions for 102 yards, averaging 10.2 yards a catch. Not bad for the youngster who is basically feeling out his place on the team.

“ ya, no touchdowns this season lol. I thought i had one. I was on the clear. It was my longest reception of the season. I saw the DB out of the corner of my eye and managed to deke him, i saw empty field in front of me and was sure i was gonna get one…. never saw the Safety lol.”

When asked about the upcoming draft…” I don’t know. I ‘m not sure where i’m going in the draft. I’d be surprised to go anywhere in the first 2 rounds. Some teams have reached out, some of the big clubs too so it’s exciting to see the interest. As for roughly where i go, i don’t know, and honestly i don’t care. If there is one thing i know for sure, it’s not where you go in the draft that makes you. As a matter of fact, the later you go and the more you produce, the bigger the legacy.”

We asked him what his plans were this off season. “ I’m going to go to the draft and then take a week and relax. After that it’s back to work training and getting ready. I definitely want to make an impact this coming season. When i joined Tijuana they said they were going for a three-peat, something no team has done. Now it’s about winning 4 in a row and i want to be a part of that, i want to contribute to that as best i can.”

Only time will tell if Jaylin Hobbs will be the player he believes he can be, now an Ultimi champion on a 3peat team, we shall see if he can help them go 4 straight, and what the future holds.
