The National Simulation Football League is nearly underway. Commissioners, Owners, General Managers, Coaches and Players have been scrambling for weeks, trying to get the NSFL ready for games. Six days ago, on June 1st, 2017 we witnessed the first inaugural NSFL draft, in which the prospects found their new homes. The weeks spent in preparation for draft day paid dues, as many of the rosters are looking awfully strong. The sleepless nights for GMs were not over yet. Post-draft the teams worked out their newly chosen rosters to decide depth charts, team strategies and team information. The work was chaotic, but in the end it was worth it, as today, June 7th we'll see our first NSFL pre-season games.

Beginning at 5:00 PM MST, we will see the Colorado Yeti COL take on the Baltimore Hawks BAL , while in another tilt we'll observe the Orange County Otters OCO face off against the Arizona Outlaws ARI . In the last test of the first pre-season week we have the San Jose Sabercats SJS battling the Yellowknife Wraiths.

Following the first week of pre-season games tonight, we have our second week kicking off. We'll see Wraiths YKW vs. Hawks BAL , Outlaws ARI vs. Yeti COL and Sabercats SJS vs. Otters OCO .

The first slate of games tonight will begin giving early indications on draft stars and draft busts, as well as true roster strength. For now, the standings remain tight as we anxiously await tonights slate of games.

The action continues tomorrow with Pre-season weeks 3 and 4 kicking off tomorrow.

Elsewhere in NSFL News, John Gladden NSFL 2017 has finally released their overall ratings for the new prospects.

The highest-rated prospect of 2017 goes to Alexander Selich, of the San Jose Sabercats SJS . The linebacker comes in with an overall rating of 74. The Sabercats look to be in pretty good shape with the leadership of the defense firmly in Selich's hands.

The line-backing corps of this draft in general appears to be strong, as Jaylon Lee of the Outlaws ARI , Lindarius Shelton and Sinjin Flimjollywhop, both of the Wraiths YKW , and Ian Bavitz of the Otters OCO all came in with an overall rating of 73 at the linebacker position. Several other linebackers came in at 71 or 72 as well, making this year's linebacker class one of the strongest in recent memory.

Several other prospects that aren't linebackers managed to obtain the second-highest rating of 73. These prospects include defensive ends Jason Spearhead and Tyler Varga of the Yellowknife Wraiths YKW , Logan Noble, QB and Fuego Wozy, DE of the Colorado Yeti COL . Also rated at 73, we have Adamle Tomlinson, DE of the Orange County Otters OCO .

To review, our top 10 rated prospects are:
1. Alex Selich - SJS - 74
T-2. Jason Spearhead - YKW - 73
T-2. Tyler Varga - YKW - 73
T-2. Lindarius Shelton - YKW - 73
T-2. Sinjin Flimjollywhop - YKW - 73
T-2. Logan Noble - COL - 73
T-2. Fuego Wozy - COL - 73
T-2. Ian Bavitz - OCO - 73
T-2. Adamle Tomlinson - OCO - 73
T-2. Jaylon Lee - ARI - 73

The Baltimore Hawks BAL are the only team lacking a top-10 rated prospect, however, they do have some promising talent in Kurt Hendrix, LB, coming in at 72 and Scrub Kyubee, QB, earning a 71 rating. Marcus Robinson, RB, followed closely with a 70 rating as did Bisquiteeen Crocker, DE.

The Yellowknife Wraiths YKW , at least according to Gladden's ratings did a pretty good job on draft-night. They had the four prospects already mentioned at 73, with QB's Alexandre Leclair and Chris Orosz as well as T Mat Akselsen all earning a high mark of 71. Earning a 70 rating for the Wraiths was LB Reginald Hampshireton.

The Colorado Yeti COL picked up some good talent in the draft. Their QB and DE earned the mark of 73, while their LB Wyatt Fulton earned a 72. Rated at 71, the Yeti have LB Johnathon Saint, and at 70 they have T Bender Rodriguez, and DE Everest Teagarden.

Moving over to the ASFC, the Sabercats SJS had top rated prospect Alexander Selich at 74, and Jameis Christ, QB, at 72. Following are their two DEs, Greg Taylor and Sensabaughdy Leafer at 71, along with their FS Ja Brill. Rounding out their top-rated prospects is T Ben Longshaw at 70.

The Orange County Otters OCO had a couple prospects, Bavitz and Tomlinson tie for the second highest rating at 73. Coming in at 72 apiece, are Quarterbacks Ethan Hunt and Mike Boss. At 70, the Otters have LBs Glennie Retro and Arby Krimlaw as well as third QB, Josh Bercovici. The QB battle in Orange County appears to be in full-swing with a lot of talent stacked at the position.

Finishing up the ASFC we have the Arizona Outlaws ARI . Their LB Jaylon Lee was the only rookie to make the top-10 with the nine-way tie at 73. FS Mayron Jackson makes their top prospect list at 71, while DE Jayce Tuck closes it out at 70.

That closes out the top-rated prospects from John Gladden's NSFL 2017. We only counted out the sixteen prospects from the ASFC and 18 prospects from the NSFC that earned a rating of 70 or higher. Many of the other prospects to see their name called on draft day followed closely in the mid to high 60s for their ratings, so we're seeing a lot of close competition coming our way soon.

Elsewhere around the league, Gregor Clegane, the new OL prospect picked up by the Otters saw a new tell-all called Gregor Clegane: The True Inside Story be released by the spider. The in-depth history of Clegane shows the hazards faced on his journey to the ultimate goal of being a professional football player in the NSFL.

Jayce Tuck Emerges from Forest Training and shows the NSFL community how he transformed his body from a lean 288 lbs to a hefty, muscle-bound monster at 306.

Daniel Robicheaux, the RT of the Sabercats has Officially Endorsed the San Jose Pancake Parlor. The feel-good story of Robicheaux growing simultaneously with his growing love of pancakes lead to the exciting development.

That's it for us today folks. Remember to tune in tonight for weeks 1 and 2 of the NSFL Pre-Season games, and tomorrow night for weeks 3 and 4.

The NSFL's regular season will begin on Monday, June 12th, so keep an eye out for upcoming schedules.
