*Ranking S14 DSFL RB Prospects - Baron1898 - 03-09-2019

In the spirit of @dropbear’s objective TPE rankings of the quarterbacks going into the historic S14 draft, I thought I’d provide a look at the stacked pool of running back prospects and discuss their objective value based on TPE earned. While it’s not out of place for inactive players to surge in points before the draft, seeing how each prospect has worked to improve over the week can show which backs are most committed to improvement and success in the DSFL.

TPE Rankings

91 TPE - Morgan Marshall
Morgan Marshall has a sizable lead over the other ten running backs in training. Marshall displays well-rounded abilities in both rushing and receiving and is an elusive weapon in and outside of the pocket. The main lingering question is whether Marshall is strong enough to handle the physicality that comes in the professional level.

68 TPE - Ben Bortboy
Bortboy slightly edges out Max Vaz for the second place ranking. He is a well-rounded power back prospect and has invested in earning TPE and using it to boost his speed. His dedication is impressive considering his abusively neglectful childhood and barebones college experience. For someone who does not actually know the rules of football, Bortboy is setting himself up nicely for whichever team selects him.

67 TPE - Max Vaz
Vaz is the model image of a speed back- the name of his game is investing training into speed. Vaz will still need to work on boosting his supplementary scores to become more than a one-dimensional runner and make his idol Bob the Builder proud.

64 TPE - Kermit Stronglegs
Stronglegs is well-rounded across the board, suiting his all-purpose archetype, and has impressive breakaway speed as well. Apart from speed, however, Stronglegs has yet to truly set himself apart from other RBs.

59 TPE - Farley Hank, Terry Taffy
The other two receiving backs in the draft both check in with a score of 59. The prospects are practically identical, with Hank having a slight edge in pass-catching and Taffy being faster.

54 TPE - Dorfus Jimbo
The banjo maestro turned running back is slightly more well-rounded than fellow speed back prospects but at the cost of being slower. Jimbo’s TPE will jump when his wiki page gets approved, allowing him to pool more training into either speed or other categories as he chooses. It remains to be seen whether Jimbo is dedicated enough to live up to his self-proclaimed GOAT status or will end up tossing aside football altogether to resume a burgeoning banjo career.

50 TPE - Ronald St. James III, Trey Moffat, Ludicolo Bigby, Forrest Gump
These backs, including the “leader” of the running back class Ludicolo Bigby, have not invested into any training despite promising starting statistics. They aren’t out of the running for the top of the class, but some serious work will need to be invested to catch up to the other backs.

Bigby is apparently the most recognizable back in the class and is well known by DSFL scouts. He has good speed but hasn’t yet capitalized on his potential. Moffat, Gump, and RSJ3 have all been largely inactive since declaring for the draft and have not engaged with scouts or trainers, making them risky propositions for a team to draft.

Big time love for the receiving back choice! Keep up the hard work!
