Week 2 of the prospect bowl came to end with the Pacific Owls once again failing again to pick up win on the road this time against the East Cobras. This time the offense could be the one to blame. The abysmal offensive showing came to be a lackluster of 268 total yards. QB Ryan Leaf JR. once again frustrated with the offensive line play saw himself running away from defenders majority of time leading to a critical pick six which would eventually seal the fate of the Owls early in the 1st quarter. Leaf JR. would finish the game 20/35 with one interception. With QB pressure all game, Leaf JR threw into coverage allowing the defense to break up six passes. Although some of the blame could be placed on the receiver core inability to hold onto the ball while being contested. Five total drop passes combined from the Owls offense. The run game was unable to get going as well. Bigby was given all the carries of 29 but could barely break one hundred yards rushing with 3.6 ypc. A controversial decision of a stagnant offense to not give any carries to Bortboy who only had one reception for 8 yards. Even when able to get into the Red zone the owls failed to convert that into points due to penalties and 22 yard field goal shanked to the left by Dasistwirklichseinnachname.
On a brighter note, "Legion of Hoot" played a stout nickel defensive approach sinking their talons into the Cobra's passing attack limiting Armstrong to QBR of 42.8. Cornerback Neon Demon made his presence felt with 3 tackles and 4 pass deflections. The real takeaway though was the Owls secondary to cause pressure on the Cobra's main receiver Kleven, who dropped 3 passes. One glaring issue was the defensive line failing to contain the running back. Jane's ran for 164 yards. We caught up with linebacker Mo Berry after the game. "I believe as a whole the defense is really coming together. The Cobras really tried to run away from my side of the field but I know Tony (Gabagool) will shore up the other side and he did that. D' Attoria did his thing as well. We just need to keep grind and work to next week against the Grizzlies." The Owls look to pick up their first win next week for their home opener against the Central Grizzlies.

Legion of Hoot holding it down! Hopefully the offense can figure it out.
