It appears that Arizona Outlaws hard hitting Free Safety doesn’t just hit hard on the field. He was involved in an incredible – and dangerous – thwarting of a robbery this past weekend.
Police Commissioner Paul Renteria of the Arizona PD had this to say about the incident “We have been chasing this guy for months. His MO is to stalk out elderly ladies who live alone in upscale parts of the city. He figures out their schedule and steals their cars. He has committed an unknown number of robberies in this area.”
He continued “Mayran Jackson recently moved into this area as a result of the NSFL draft and quickly made friends with everyone on his street. As he was coming home at around midnight, 1 AM with two very busty young ladies…like freakishly busty, he saw the perp attempting to enter a vehicle that Jackson knew wasn’t his. He snuck up behind the perp and hit him so hard it would have been an unnecessary roughness penalty if it had happened on a football field. He called the police and then the officers apprehended the suspect.”
The Jackson story quickly made headlines and the mayor took this opportunity to earn some votes amongst his people by declaring next Friday ‘Mayran Jackson Day’. He will be presented with a Medal of Bravery at an open ceremony and will stay to sign autographs afterward. The first 500 people to show up will also receive a limited edition Mayran Jackson crime-fighting bobblehead.
We had a chance to get a quick statement from Jackson. “Yeah, Helen and I became fast friends. She’s a sweet lady – I had dinner at her house the day before the attempted robbery. I knew she lived alone. There was no way I was letting that guy take her car. Scared? No I wasn’t scared. I face tougher guys every day in practice. I’m just glad the bad guy was caught.”
Come out next Friday to City Hall where local hero Mayran Jackson will be honored.
