It may have been longer than expected, but for Nick Snider the end result was worth the wait. The former University of Waterloo Warrior Defensive Tackle will now call Norfolk home after being drafted in the 8th round (#47 overall) in the Season 14 DSFL draft.

"I'm excited to be here. It doesn't matter if I was 1st overall or 111th overall I'm here to bust my butt and help get us to an ultimini" Claimed Snider. "I do have to think my representation, EighthRoundPick Sports Agency had something to do with my pickup. Maybe I should have signed with FirstRoundPick Sports instead" Snider said with a chuckle.

Expectations are low for Norfolk this year as one of two expansion teams. The Norfolk roster was built entirely through the draft and should be at a sever experience and talent disadvantage, but don't tell that to Snider.

"I don't believe that for a second" said Snider. "We have all the talent in the world, if people wanna sleep on us, then sleep, we'll come like an assassin in the night."

Snider is seemingly quite happy with his fellow teammates.

"Everyone in the locker room is focused on getting better and getting wins, when everyone is on the same page like that it's easy to get along, couple that with the fact we have only high character guys in the locker room and you have yourself a cohesive unit. Guys like Jimbo, Morris, Ahri, they make it easy to come to work every day, it really doesn't feel like a job."

A team centered approach is certainly a common theme among Norfolk players. When asked about his own personal goals Snider continued to echo the same sentiment.

"My personal goal is to make the other players around me better. If that means eating a double team so Morris can go make a play, great, if it means getting pressure on a quarterback to help out our guys in coverage, amazing. I want to be 1 11th of a championship team. That's my goal."

Snider and Norfolk will look to start working towards that goal when the DSFL pre-season kicks off tonight. Although Pre-Season games do not count for a teams record it will be important for the young team to get used to their systems and playing with new faces.

You're going to be the leader in sacks this season, mark my words. I'm very happy to be part of this team, let's go all the way to the Ultimini!
