Here we go. A few days before the season opener. Preseason is over, and the team looks to be rolling. Don't let the 1-3 record fool you. The preseason counts nothing. It's just a few tuneup games. Building chemistry, figuring strategies and game plans, testing lineups. Nothing like what you will be seeing during the regular season.
For anyone wondering, I will play for Norfolk once again as a send down. I guess fate has it for me to be there till we win the Ultimini. Which is this season. It's definitely this season. We nailed it in the DSFL draft, massive props to the Fleet HO for that. On top of that, most of last season's roster has remained intact. Sure, Logan staying in the Wraiths roster hurts us, but the biggest part of last season's core is here. The chemistry is there. It only got a big boost. And the chip on our shoulders after last season's collapse is huge. WE. WANT. TO. WIN. ULTIMINI.
On top of that, we got Lavelle Jr. If he has half of his father's talent, we got nothing to fear. Imagine playing half as good the legendary Dermot Lavelle. I shudder even at the thought of it. But that's all on paper. We HAVE to show up come gametime. We HAVE to show what we are worth. We HAVE to win. For the city, for the fans, for us. That's what your legacy is based on. Winning titles. Individual awards and records are for the losers. I am not even close to that. History books only celebrate the winners. The losers are always shamed upon... Take that last sentence as you want.
I know it's shorter this time, but stay around. The next will be bigger. The regular season begins soon.
