Hello, and welcome back to Copyright-Free Indianapolis News Network™. As you may know, there are two very special athletes, brothers in-fact, from our community, being considered as DSFL draft prospects- Saba Donut and Ducky Donut. But as you may also have heard, Saba was signed recently on waivers by the Palm Beach Solar Bears of the DSFL. This was a big break for him as the Solar Bears were in the Ultimini, the DSFL championship game, equivalent to the NSFL's Ultimus championship. We were lucky enough to have him in for an interview today, and here's what he had to say.
CFINN:How does it feel knowing that you haven't even been drafted yet, and still made an impact in the most important game in the DSFL?
Saba: It feels amazing, and for the Solar Bears I have a great deal of love. They gave me a chance when nobody else would. Obvious it payed off, with the players we got of off waivers we were able to completely change our offense up. We hit defenses with plays they weren't expecting. The fact that I helped a team evolve our offense and help win the Ultimini will stay with me forever.
CFINN: How did it feel when you were able to make an impact on the field for the first time, with your 5-yard reception in the game? Did it finally feel real that you were on the professional level?
Saba: I felt on top of the world. It's as simple as that. I knew I was destined for greatness since the day I touched that football and mossed my brother Ducky. To know that I was here and that I left a mark on DSFL history blew me away.
CFINN: How do you think your performance in this game will impact your draft projection for DSFL? Do you think that this game will boost your career, as you already have an achievement that most players don't ever achieve, before even being drafted?
Saba:I think it will definitely help. Coaches have seen what I can do and if they are in the market for a WR I think I would be near the top. I know for sure that the Solar Bears liked my performance. Also, I have an accolade most people don't have. Winning the Ultimini before I was even drafted. Only a select few are part of that group.
CFINN: Thanks for your time today Mr. Donut, we here hope you and your brother will have a successful career in DSFL and (hopefully) NSFL for years to come.
So that wrapped up our interview with Saba Donut. He seems like a humble man with a smart mind, and he seems like he will have a great career in professional football.
See you next time folks!
