Gone Fishing. After the long championship run and our trip to Disneyland, where we got this great picture of us going down splash mountain. I decided to take some me time and do some fishing. I went to this great place, a short hike in and camped there for a whole weekend. No cell service. zero outside world contact. just me, fish, nature, and a good book. I ended up seeing three moose, several white tail deer, and caught me plenty of fish for breakfast, lunch and dinner while I was out there. There is nothing else like casting out a nice dry fly and seeing a fish rise up to snag it. A wonderful way to calm the mind and reset myself for another season.

danny grithead spent this long offseason prior to the season 16 of the national simulation football league by moving all of his things from orange county in california to yellowknife all the way up in canada. firstly, danny grithead had to get everything all in order because not only was he moving all of his things, but he was also moving to a whole different country. danny grithead now gets to enjoy all of the nice benefits that canada has, including free healthcare which should come in very handy whenever danny grithead gets dinged up from practice or during games if he suffers any injuries god forbid. he also had to get his passport settled and actually had to go and get a passport in the first place because danny grithead's parents never got him a passport because they never planned for him to ever leave the country or really ever the state because why would he ever leave the great United States of America? It is the greatest place on earth but now danny grithead is leaving to go to canada and try to help bring yellowknife back to its past glory in the playoffs and in the hunt for a return to the ultimus game.

To keep busy this offseason, Brock Landers has been at the gym. The Outlaws took a huge step forward last year and now everyone in Arizona wants to take it to the next level and be real Ultimus contenders. Brock has been training with his teammates and big name free agents as well, trying to do some recruiting right now. If nobody else joins the Arizona offense, Brock will be shouldering a heavy load in the passing game. He knows this and is planning to be ready for whatever happens next year. The best place to be for that is in the gym or on the practice field.

Blake Faux is an anxious guy, so he decided to lock himself inside his house until the draft was over. He declined the invitation to sit in the green room during the live draft, has disconnected the internet at this house, and has given his smartphone to a friend for safekeeping. The only contact Faux will have with the outside world during these few weeks will be his landline (yes, those still exist). He already has his bags packed so he can immediately head out as soon as he called and notified that he's been drafted. Until then he'll be in his own version of isolation.

While he's shut in, he'll still be working out, and has already figured out a workout plan to follow with a dietary portion. The groceries will be delivered. Right before he stepped inside he told me that he had some reading to catch up on as it turns out you don't have much real downtown during the actual season, even in the DSFL.

It's a bit extreme, but Blake Faux is nothing if not a man of extremes.

LeJune is still recovering from his crash diet midseason. Losing 30 pounds in a day is rough to be sure. He's still putting in the work to become great. He's shown flashes, but he wants to have that one season that really puts him on the map. At LB, it was pretty easy to get consistent stats. Now at safety, he's going to have to work overtime to get those tackles, picks, PDs, and sacks to warrant his first positional award. Another pro bowl appearance would be nice to. And as always, Lejune is out and about watching the youngins of the league to find who best to rep the yellow and black. POR

The big thing for Rose Jenkins right now is that she's back home in Chicago. With her mom retiring from hockey this year, she's hoping to go to every single one of her games during her own off season. This means spending a lot of time in San Francisco, but it just means a lot of much needed family time for her and her mother on their way to their own respective championship pushes. This also means more chances on the ice for Rose, who's been getting better about her balance and is trying to translate those abilities into pocket passing training.

Laszlo Forty-Two has been pretty active after the season was all over and done with. He booked a handful of upcoming interviews to get himself reading for the draft and he has been working out getting reading for the upcoming season to quite an intense pace.

However, in his free time he has been playing with his puppy he got doing media, little Pudding, and been playing video games such as Moral Kombat and other fighting games and watching sports. Throw in a bit of studying of the game and rewatching some of his plays and you have basically what Mr. Forty-Two has been up too!

What did Chase Jensen do this offseason? Well, to be perfectly honest, he's just been training a whole hell of a lot for his upcoming debut in the NSFL. He may or may not have some surprises coming for this season that everyone should be pretty stoked about. Outside of his training, he's been vacationing and just mentally preparing for the grind of the season. He's also been working a lot with the general managers of the Copperheads on how he can improve his game at the next level. There's often not a time that Chase Jensen isn't locked in on his career.

Last season, Lanzer used the off-season to really prepare physically to be ready for another championship run. He had to train and push himself to be ready to take over after the Pythons lost Lee and Stokeley when they were called up. This off-season has been different though. He is using the time he has to prepare himself mentally. He already knows that he is in top physical form, but the NSFL is very different from the DSFL. He will be up against teams full of professionals and top-tier talent. After a loss in the Ultimini, he has to get his mind in the right place before the season starts, so he can be ready for whatever role he has to fill for the Otters this season to give them the best chance at an Ultimus. The Ultimini loss to the Solar Bears really showed Lanzer the reality of the sport that he plays. He had a fantastic season, possibly the best anyone has ever had in his position, but it wasn't enough to lead his team to a victory in the end. One man cannot single-handedly carry a team to a championship. He can try, but he will definitely need help along the way. He is taking the time to get to know his new teammates and to reach a point where he can trust them whenever necessary to win games, because football is a team game. If you can't trust your teammates, you can't win games.
