Sitting in the green room, every second feels like days. Unable to sit still, unable to think. The pressure is on. Then I see that phone call. I was surprised, I wasn’t supposed to go this early. It must be a joke I thought as I answered the phone. “Hello” I said. “Hi, this is the Portland Pythons head coach and we would like to welcome you to the team”. Reality hit me, I was in the DSFL, I was worthy of the fourth overall pick, my dreams that I’ve had for years since I was a child have finally become true. I walked up onto the stage, shook the commissioners hand, and raised my jersey high. Once I got off that stage I raced towards my family and embraced them all, my mother who never let me give up, my father who sacrificed every day for me, and my brother who pushes me to be my best every day. I continued waiting in the green room because my brother was yet to get drafted. When he got the call at 22 I was filled with pride, both Donut brothers were in the DSFL and we were there to stay. When Action Jackson was picked I was ecstatic, we were going to get to grow and develop together to form one of the deadliest combos of all time. Today has been great, every sacrifice we ever made paid off. Now it’s my turn, I’m going to put in all the work, all the effort and shine. Now it's my time.
