*Prospect Bowl W3-4 Predictions - Ocelot - 08-12-2019

Hi all,

We've just seen the first two weeks of the prospect bowl pass us by, with the S18 rookies starting to make a name for themselves as they attempt to attract the attention of the DSFL and NSFL GMs in the future. After an interesting first few games, I thought I'd use what I saw to predict these coming weeks.

WEEK 3 - GAME ONE - Wolfpack @ Mongoose

A rematch of the opening game of the prospect bowl. That match-up ended 20-12 to the Mongoose with their offensive side putting in a dominant passing game, QB Victor Bravo putting up a significant 205 passing yards with a 91.9 QB rating, nothing to scoff at. Wolfpack struggled offensively, having 10 less minutes of possession and a 128 total yardage gained difference. I really don't see this week 3 matchup going too differently from week one, so I'm going to give this to the Mongoose.

PREDICTION: Wolfpack 10 - Mongoose 23

WEEK 3 - GAME TWO - Tropics @ Cobras

Another rematch from opening week and another relatively one-sided game. Unfortunately, we at the Cobras just couldn't get it done vs the tropics, falling 10-23. Despite seemingly better offensive-stats, a 3 forced turnovers and a 1st quarter slump meant that the Cobras found themselves in a comeback situation that we just couldn't get over. Still, a strong defensive outing from Babcock showed promise, and I think the Cobras may find themselves on lucks side this game.

PREDICTION: Tropics 10 - Cobras 17

WEEK 4 - GAME ONE - Tropics @ Mongoose

The tropics on back-to-back away games see if they can withstand the travel fatigue to make a show against the Mongoose who have demonstrated themselves to be a pretty strong team. This is the first time we'll see these teams meet, we'll see if Victor Bravo can keep his strong performance travelling into the new football week. The Tropics have a scary defence, with players such as Bjørn Ironside looking to pad up that sack statistic against VB. I see this being a relatively low-scoring game, especially with Tropics QB Jaroppolo yet to put in a standout performance.

PREDICTION: Tropics 7 - Mongoose 13

WEEK 4 - GAME TWO - Wolfpack @ Cobras
An match-up to look forward to. Cobra QB Jay Cue clocked in the highest QB Rating of the prospect bowl so far in his last game against the Mongoose, 272 yards, 21/30 completions. I anticipate this match to be a high-scoring shootout. Expecting a more pass-heavy approach from both teams as they try to gunsling their way to victory. Due to that, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more high level defense from Cobra players such as Babcock and the backfield. The Wolfpack defense is nothing to laugh at either, M'Wehwordson has defended quite a few passes and the entire team has some tackles to boot.
Unfortunately, the Wolfpack have historically struggled offensively, so I expect the Cobras to take a strong lead throughout the game.

PREDICTION: Wolfpack 10 - Cobras 27

Thanks for reading these predictions guys, apologies if I got anything wrong. First time attempting something outside of a press conference for media.
