*Lenny Luchadore’s Post Draft Review - JSteel - 08-20-2019

Hey everybody! Lenny Luchadore Tijuana Superfan here with another post draft review for the Luchadores! What a great draft our GMs had, hopefully setting us up to continue the dynasty! Let’s get started! Mask up!!???????????

Draft Review for Tijuana

Thudd Kassel LB
Although he had threatened a holdout, Thudd Kassel was too much value for the Luchadores to pass on when their first pick rolled around. A sure tackling linebacker out of RVS, Thudd will look to make an impact on the team early on with his ability to make big hits and stop the run. 6’4”, 253 and chiseled of stone, opposing runningbacks will have a brick wall of a man meeting them in the hole.

Bender Rodriguez WR
Bender Rodriguez is a possession receiver coming from Mars University. The 6’2” Tijuana native is sure handed, capable of making every catch imaginable. While at MU Bender B. never dropped a ball when targeted on third down, demonstrating his ability to be a clutch player during big moments and someone that can always be called on for a third down conversion.

Zach Bailey CB
The Luchadores then picked Zach Bailey, a zone corner out of LSU. Standing at 6’1” Bailey can hang with even the biggest receivers. His sure hands allow him to make plays on the ball if opposing quarterbacks make the mistake of throwing his way.

Jesse Jackson WR
Jesse Jackson, a speed receiver out of Illinois State was the Luchadores next selection. Standing at 6’2” and with blazing speed Jackson is capable of a home run ball every down. During the prospect bowl games he showed a lot of promise making big catches of 17 and 21 yards, along with playing in the championship game contributing 3 catches for 29 yards.

Junior Lopez LB
The Luchadores then chose to continue to shore up their defense, selecting Junior Lopez out of LSU. A prototypical linebacker, Lopez combines speed, size, and a great tackling ability to be an imposing force on the defensive side of the ball.

Alexander Ryan WR
Alexander Ryan is a 6’1” 195 lbs Route runner drafted out of his home state of Iowa. An intelligent receiver who has the agility and catching ability to make acrobatic catches, the Luchadores are hoping that Ryan can make an impact come gameday with key catches for first downs.

Joseph Wozniak S
The Luchadores drafted Joseph Wozniak out of Michigan for their first pick at safety in the draft. Standing at 5’9 and 180 lbs Wozniak looks to make his impact in the passing game, locking the down the center field for the defense and making up for any blown coverages with his speed and coverage ability. Wozniak came up big in the prospect bowl, collecting 2 defensive player of the game awards to go along with 58 tackles, 2 sacks, an interception and a pass breakup as well as blocking a punt on special teams.

Howard Ryan S
The second safety drafted by the Luchadores Howard Ryan is a playmaker. 6’0” with speed and great hands, Ryan was a key part of University of Delaware’s
Defense this season.

Caleb Beck CB
The Luchadores continued to shore up their secondary with this pick. 6’3” Caleb Beck our of Auburn is a lockdown man to man corner capable of sticking to the best receivers. Combining speed and agility Beck is capable of sticking to his man throughout the route and has length to break up passes.

Wayne Howyanow S
With pick number 53 Tijuana selected Wayne Howyanow from LSU. With sideline to sideline speed Wayne is able to assist in cleaning up tackles and is always a threat to make plays on the ball in the air. During the prospect bowl he amassed 32 TKL, 1 TFL, 1 sack, 3 PD, 3 INT, and a Defensive Player of the Game for a 9 tackle 2 interception performance.

Caden Bright OL
The first Offensive Lineman taken by Tijuana, Bright is a 6’7” 340 lbs mountain of a man. Bright dominated opposing defensive lines while at UCLA amassing pancakes left and right.

Dorian Cope WR
Dorian Cope is a big bodied receiver who made an impact at Texas coming down with contested catches consistently. At 6’2” and 250 lbs he combines size and great hands to make crucial catches on third downs.

DaQuarrion M’Wewordson CB
DQ is another man to man cornerback able to stick to his man and break up passes with his long frame at 6’0. He uses his intelligence as a defenseman to his advantage, and is able to use his knowledge to assist in locking down opposing receivers.

Hank McCoy RB
A bruising powerback out of Xavier, Hank McCoy is a 5’10 245 lbs can of whoopass. His highlight reel of trucks and broken tackles was a viral hit on YouTube and Tijuana hopes he can continue that trend at the next level. With great pad level and strength McCoy looks to be a problem for opposing defenses once he hits top speed.

Fuzzy Dotson
Tijuana also drafted Fuzzy Dotson, a 5’10” 245lbs blocking fullback who played for Arizona. Fuzzy led the way for Arizona’s runningbacks allowing the team to put together a lethal run game. Fuzzy also showed promise in the pass game, demonstrating an ability to make catches out of the backfield and showing power as a runner. When reviewing his tape I couldn’t help but get Peyton Hillis vibes.

Benjamin Gordon OL
Benjamin Gordon was selected by Tijuana to be one of their day one starters on the OLine. A technician out of Western Nebraska Community College, strong as an ox and coming in at 6’3” and 358lbs. His high intelligence allows him to consistently win hand fights against solid pass rushers and his size and ability to plant his face mask into a defender is key to dominating in the run game.

Buck Buckington DT
Buck Buckington is a 6’3” 307 force on the inside. An interior pass rusher, Buckington was a key to the Crimson Tides stifling defense last year. Consistently beating pass blocks Buckington took many a quarterback’s lunch money his senior year. As a Luchadore he should have plenty of opportunities to continue to feast.

Robert Dade TE
Robert Dade is a young versatile tight end. Capable of being a matchup nightmare in the pass game and a physical blocker in the run game, look for the 6’4 245 lb to be a contributor on all three downs on offense.

Earl Sauce TE
Another playmaker tight end picked by Tijuana. 6’5” and 255 lbs, Earl Sauce seems to be cut from the same cloth as Rob Gronkowski. Big bodied and capable of going up and getting the ball he made big plays every week during his time at Boise State.

Ricky Boomer TE
Continuing the theme of picking jack of all trades tight ends, Tijuana takes Ricky Boomer from UCLA. With good speed and hands to go along with his 6’5” 260 frame Ricky Boomer is a danger to opposing secondaries.

Ivan Abramvich TE
Ivan Abramvich is a tall receiving tight end out of Virginia Tech. Like Jimmy Graham Ivan has great hands and can come down with any jump ball. A nightmare for opposing linebackers, his QB can think of Abramvich as a 7/11, “Always Open”.

Bill Bono TE
Tijuana has a thing for their tight ends. Bill Bono is another vertical threat tight end with great speed and hands. At IU he was a vital safety valve for his quarterback, always making plays when pressure was high. His combination of speed and size will cause problems when Bill Bono has the ball in his hands.
