*At Career’s End. - Baron1898 - 11-13-2019 That’s all, folks. With the Ultimus defeat to the Orange County Otters, Morgan Marshall has officially played his last game. The loss by the Wraiths is the fourth playoff defeat in Marshall’s five year DSFL and NSFL career. All of the four playoff losses were at home, and three of these teams were the first seed in their respective conference. Marshall finished the game against the Otters with only 8 carries for 41 yards, plus 2 receptions for 13 yards through the air. The Wraiths only managed to score 10 points against the Otters defense, with Cooter Bigsby throwing for a lone touchdown against two interceptions and a lost fumble. “This is not how I wanted my career to end. Obviously it’s not been how I wanted it to go for a good while now, but I couldn’t help but hope for a ring to cap off my retirement. Obviously that didn’t happen, we didn’t make enough plays, Orange County played us physical and we didn’t respond on offense when given the opportunities. It’s a bummer way to end a career for sure.” Marshall noted that he would likely settle down back in San Antonio, the team that took a chance on him in the DSFL Draft and gave him an intern position this past year. San Antonio also lost the Ultimini this evening to the Portland Pythons. “I know the perception of San Antonio continues to be strongly against us through no fault of our own, but the GMs and I are incredibly proud of the way this team played and have plenty of areas to work on for the future.
