*McDavid's Weekly Sigs 1/24 - Rising Equinox - 02-07-2020

(3/5 - $700k) My favorite part about this sig is the colors. All around, you made every element of this sig blend extremely well together. That's really difficult to do sometimes, especially when you start adding text, jersey swaps, etc. Really nice work with that! The jersey swap itself is also pretty nice. The logo on the helmet is always a nice detail to have. Sometimes that gets overlooked in the render editing step. Now, for what knocked the grade down. I definitely don't think the sig is bad, but I feel like there could be more, if you know what I mean. You never want too much going on in a sig, but you also want to make sure there's enough to really catch the eye of someone scrolling passed. You have to find that balance. In this sig, I feel like the main problem kind of lies in the text and background. They don't really fit together very well, so, as a result, it makes everything look out of place almost. I like the background on its own, but I don't think the text style was the best choice for this specific sig.

(3.5/5 - $850k) I love the editing and overall effort you put into this one! You can just tell, based on all the small detail work you did, how much time was put into it. The shadows, reflections, and everything are great. My favorite detail is probably the name swap on the jersey. This can be difficult to do, and a lot of people choose to skip this aspect, by no fault of their own, because it can just be tricky to do. You did it flawlessly, nice! I think this one slightly surpasses the previous one because of all the detail work, but it has similar problems. It doesn't really feel like there's "enough" here to really go higher than a 3.5. This sig is very large, due to the size of the background image, but it leaves a lot of empty space. Yes, it can help bring attention to the render in the center, but it also makes it difficult to focus on one thing, because there's just so much space around it. Also, I feel like the text could use a little work. I don't have any problems with the font specifically; that's fine. But, a good portion of it is covered by the render, and I feel like an outline could also help make the text more pronounced. Nice job overall though on both sigs!
