A running joke in the field of astronomy is our use of ridiculous acronyms for our projects. There are projects called H0LiCOW (H0 Lenses in COSMOGRAIL’s Wellspring), TRAPPIST (TRAnsiting Planets and PlanetesImals Small Telescope), NICER (Neutron Star Interior Composition ExploreR), TRICERATOPS (Tool for Rating interesting Candidate Exoplanets and Reliability Analysis of Transits Originating from Proximate Stars), and JWST (Just Wait Some more Time brb going to cry) to name just a few.
It's so bad that someone made a tool on 4/1/19 to help astronomers stop wasting time coming up with acronyms - which you can see here: https://arxiv.org/abs/1903.12180
Anyways, the league needs a new acronym pretty badly, even if we don't change our name. What did this come up with?
