*Peter Brand/Bubba Thumper Joint Presser - woelkers - 02-29-2020

The media room in Colorado is bustling with energy, as reporters from all across the country eagerly await the arrival of Colorado's seasoned star at defensive tackle, Bubba Thumper, and the Yeti's brand new GM, Peter Brand. As the two enter the room, the murmurs from the crowd die down quickly, and Brand takes to the podium to address the audience.

"I am thrilled to finally have an opportunity to speak with all of you in my new capacity as general manager of the Colorado Yeti. And, of course, once you've exhausted all you questions for me, I've brought along the reigning defensive lineman of the year, Bubba Thumper, who is also happy to answer your questions today."

If you would, please specify who your question is directed to so I can best address them from that perspective.

PB: I feel that Colorado is a team that is inches from achieving at the highest level, and I think given my success in Minnesota, I can come into this franchise and help take them there. I think I bring a fresh approach to the behind the scenes operations of this team, and I think between Tommy and I, we can build a perennial winner here in Denver.

PB: I can't say I'm not still concerned about my legacy in Minnesota. I know Mav and I caught quite a bit of heat when we made the decision to move from San Antonio to Duluth, but I'm hopeful we built something special enough there that both of our legacies are secure.

(02-29-2020, 06:56 PM)TomHanks Wrote:What can we expect from Colorado this season?
PB: I know I achieved quite a bit in my time in Minnesota, but I'm absolutely still hungry for more. I'm not done succeeding in this league, and Colorado is only just beginning to succeed, so I'm hopeful we can bring several Ultimus titles to the city of Denver while I'm here.

(02-29-2020, 06:56 PM)TomHanks Wrote:How many different defensive awards go to Yeti players this season?
PB: As is evident from my time in Minnesota, I'm a bit of an offensive specialist; Tommy is our defensive mind. But, with the success of last season coupled with the pieces we added in the draft, we are confident we have what it takes to have similar success on defense this season.

(02-29-2020, 06:56 PM)TomHanks Wrote:What was your favourite moment as GM of the Ducks?
PB: There's something about the look on players' faces after winning an Ultimini that I will just never be able to describe. Nothing makes me happier than being able to look a player in the eyes and tell them they did it, they won. The fact that I could share those two titles with so many incredible players, those were my favorite moments.

(02-29-2020, 07:32 PM)s4ndr0p Wrote:What are the key changes we can expect for the next season? Is there a possibility there will be exciting new starters to watch?
PB: Obviously, with the losses of King and McMahon, this team needed to find a new tight end and a new wide receiver, and we are thrilled to welcome Earl Sauce and Red Arrow to the Yeti family. We're also excited to be adding so much young talent to our defense in guys like Blackstone, Kirkby, and Smirh. Plenty of changes to the starting line-ups, but we expect to succeed at just as high a level this season as last.

(02-29-2020, 08:08 PM)Frick_Nasty Wrote:How has working with Tom Ozzborne been so far?
PB: I love working with Tommy. He reminds me so much of Mav, except he knows the side of the ball I've struggled with in my time in Minnesota. I really think this is the start of an excellent working relationship.

(02-29-2020, 10:51 PM)FleshBagSoup Wrote:Why would you sign some bum like Earl Sauce?
PB: King's retirement hit us hard; I think Sauce gives us exactly the talent we need to fill the hole he left behind.

(02-29-2020, 11:39 PM)Dewalt27 Wrote:Peter, What was the best move you made as GM of the Ducks?
PB: It's hard to say. I've made a number of decisions in my time that I think really helped this franchise have success. It's tough to truly single one specific move out.

BT: You mean again? It's great to be recognized for the work I do. I try to leave everything I have to give on the field, and to have that award to put on my shelf...it means a ton.

(02-29-2020, 06:56 PM)TomHanks Wrote:This is your second DLotY award, what does that mean to you and how many more can we expect from you?
BT: I plan to keep winning these for a long time, maybe even grab myself a defensive player of the year award. I want to cement my legacy as the greatest defensive lineman in the history of the league, and I want to cement my legacy as a winner. I expect a long career to come.

(02-29-2020, 06:56 PM)TomHanks Wrote:You were able to make tackles for a safety twice this season, tied for the second most in league history. Is that from skill, luck, opportunity, or something else?
BT: Obviously some of that is luck, but when I see an opportunity, I refuse to let it pass without giving my all. Everything about those plays comes down to grit, to heart, and I aspire to be the player who plays with the most of that.

(02-29-2020, 06:56 PM)TomHanks Wrote:How many kinds of ways to make shrimp are there?
BT: Well, shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. And that- that's about it.

(02-29-2020, 07:32 PM)s4ndr0p Wrote:In your opinion what is the most important factor for the success you had the last two seasons?
BT: Grit. I'm always hungry. I have a drive to win, and that's the biggest thing in this league.

(02-29-2020, 07:32 PM)s4ndr0p Wrote:Did you hear some reactions about the DLotY from your locker room?
BT: The guys are always happy to see their teammates succeed. I got a lot of shit from Mo for not being able to pull defensive player of the year from him, but that's the relationship we have. We have fun in Colorado.

(02-29-2020, 08:08 PM)Frick_Nasty Wrote:Is it true you and Mo Berry have a friendly rivalry?
BT: You could say that. We play two very different positions, so the numbers are obviously different, but we're always trying to top each other.

(02-29-2020, 10:51 PM)FleshBagSoup Wrote:Favorite flavor of doritos?
BT: I'd have to say spicy sweet chili.

(02-29-2020, 11:39 PM)Dewalt27 Wrote:Bubba, if I pay for you to go on vacation will you skip the games against the Hawks this season?
BT: You couldn't pay me enough to miss a game, man. I love this sport too much.
