*First Day in Colorado - Muford - 02-29-2020

After being flown out to the Colorado Yeti training facility, John met with both the General Managers, Peter Brand and Tom Ozzborne. Both were very welcoming of me and were very excited to have me rocking the Red and Yellow. Just like in Myrtle Beach, Colorado was very welcoming with open arms. They understood that my knowledge of Football was just not up to snuff with the rest of the draftees, but they have seen my work ethic and are very excited to have me on board. They have believed in me from the moment they drafted me, and my phone was blowing up with texts from all my new teammates. I really got to get a new number; I don’t know how all these people got it. Right away, before anything else, Mr. Brand and Mr. Ozzborne sat me down and we talked contract discussions. We have thought long and hard, and a three year deal was pushed out, and name signed on the dotted line within a few hours of arriving in Colorado.

Either way, I met with the Coaches, and instead of going to talk with the Special Teams coach, Mr. Ozzborne and Mr. Brand pulled me aside and had me meet with a strength and conditioning coach, as well as a dietary specialist. This off-season was going to be one hell of a ride, as they told me that they wanted me to pack on an extra 80 pounds. I was confused by their thoughts, but honestly, as much as they have invested in me, I would invest in the team. They believed in me, so it’s my time to believe in them. It’s going to be a very rough off-season, but they want to bring me up to the big leagues, so I am going to have put on the damn weight to stay.

They also are going to have me hitting the weight room a hell of a lot more then I was in Myrtle Beach, as well as increasing my tackling abilities. I am working with a few different specialists to try and get forms down, and weight on. What a world we live in right? I’m just proud that I am going to be able to contribute to the team that drafted me from the get-go. Team wants to keep the same energy that I am dropping on them, and that’s what I love to see from my teammates. They are already supporting me and buying me a hell of a bunch of snacks, but also meeting me in the weight room to help me increase my strength. Peter Parker has been already discussing with me some great tackling techniques and has been helping push me to become the best I can be.

Colorado has my back already, and it hasn’t even been a day yet, and this looks like a great place to be. I hope that I can continue to bring the heat for the Yeti like they brought the heat for me, and I am ready to get this season going. It’s my time to show them why John Smirh will become the best player in the NSFL, no matter the position. John Smirh, ladies and gentlemen, will be destroying the leagues for many years to come, and all of the other teams missed out on it.
