*(S 22) Samuel L Sackson Sr - Prospect Bowl - Ortecam - 03-05-2020

Well the season 22 prospect bowl is finished and we got to take our first look at one of the more intriguing prospects in this class, Samuel L Sackson (Sr) Linebacker. The countdown to the draft is on and Sackson perspires in nervous anticipation.

So, how did he perform you might be asking? Did he live up to the self proclaimed hype? Lets dive straight in. Sackson made his debut for the H-town Turts in the AFGC on day two of the prospect bowl and immediately made an impact vs his home town team Cleveland. Sackson showed his nose for the ball and big play ability finishing the game with a game high, 9 tackles and adding one forced fumble to fill out the stat sheet nicely. Sackson showed a real knack of getting to the ball carrier with his elite speed for the position and demonstrated that when he can line the tailback up in his sights, he can lay down the wood.

Game two of the day came against Indy. Indianapolis did a great job scouting for this game and obviously paid attention to Sackson's big stat line in game one and wanted no part of him. Steering well clear they always had an extra blocker which was frustrating for the Notre Dame prospect. Keeping his head level, he managed to snag two tackles in pass protection and his mere presence helped his team get the big W on the day. All in all a quiet second game from Sackson, was game one just an anomaly? Sackson had to wait until day 3 to find out if he really was cut for this league.

Game three, finals day. How would Sackson bounce back after a iffy game two? Would the pressure be too much for the young backer? The first quarter started off just how game two did. With Tennessee avoiding Sackson's side of the field, but then the man woke up. The killer instinct flicked and he became a force on the defensive side. In a hard fought battle that came down to the wire Sackson delivered what was his greatest performance yet, under the brightest lights Sackson delivered a huge performance, leading the game with 10 tackles and coming up with a huge sack in the 4th Quarter which swung the momentum of the game. Following Sackson's drive killing 4th Quarter sack Houston's offence drove down the field to tie the game, sending it to overtime.

All in all Sackson finished the Prospect Bowl with 21 tackles, 1 FF and 1 sack. Sackson showed he has a place in this league and a very bright future ahead. Tomorrow Sackson, will hear his name called for one lucky team who is about to get a franchise corner stone at Linebacker.
