*Thomas Passmann Arrested for First Degree Murder - StamkosFan - 03-25-2020

Thomas Passmann was arrested by the Tijuana police and extradited to the United States to face charges for first degree murder. Passmann's lawyers said that he will not be answering any questions, and so far, the wide receiver has heeded the advice of his counsel.

A federal judge set Passmann's bail at 10 million dollars, which was somehow posted within the hour. This peaked the interest of the IRS and federal investigators, who are looking into possible money laundering or other illegal operations as a source of income. While football players have a considerable deal of wealth, Passmann is still in the minor leagues and does not have that big of a contract. Nor does he have any money inherited from his family or any other known source of income. Speculation as to where the money came from is rampant, but apparently setting the bail sky high was not enough; the US government realizes now that they should have denied bail.

Federal prosecutors did argue before the judge that Passmann was a flight risk, and the judge agreed, thus why she set the bail so high. But nobody realized that Passmann had blood money tucked away for such an occasion. The wide receiver was seen laughing as he left the jail, waving smugly to the swarms of media reporters waiting for him. He then hitched a ride back to Tijuana and was back to the Luchadores' arena in time to appear for the week's game, only missing one practice. He is expected to start in the Luchadores' game as normal this week, and the team refuses to comment on the charges Passmann is facing. His court date has not been set yet, so it appears that Passmann will still be out and about, in the league and threatening fans for months, possibly years.

So there you have it, the beginning to the end to all this controversy and the investigation that has been in the public eye since day one. The petition to arrest Passmann worked, he did not resist arrest, but it still has failed to get him off the streets and to foil his evil plans. The danger and the threat that he poses to all of us and the very foundations of our society is a far cry from being gone. There will be no instant fix to remedy the harm that he has caused, and the laws are working in his favor, not in the favor of the innocent citizens it was meant to protect. The government's hands are tied, there is not much they can do at this point. They just have to hope that they can catch Passmann doing something else so that they can arrest him on different charges, and next time around, you know that they'll be denying bail altogether.

It remains to be seen if Passmann being an indicted criminal will decrease his draft stock. After all, NSFL teams may not want to take the risk of drafting a player that could be whisked off to an American jail in the middle of a game, that could receive a life sentence for his heinous and brutal crimes. Still, Passmann has a lot of upside on the field, and if Tijuana was willing to overlook the vampiric wide receiver's flaws, then surely some NSFL teams will be willing to do the same. Rumors say that multiple pro teams have already contacted the wide receiver, and that an expansion team contacted him just today, AFTER news of his arrest and release had broken. If any of the other red flags and deal breakers were not enough to dissuade a franchise from drafting this guy, then don't count on this to be the straw that broke the camel's back.
