Official S2 Start and Announcements - Admin - 07-12-2017

We officially roll over to S2 now! Thank you everyone who helped make S1 a success! I Look forward to many more great seasons.

Now on to the changes and announcements.

Multiple Equipment Options - We have added a second tier of equipment for you guys! Equipment may ONLY be purchased by certain position groups too

Equipment
- Each type of equipment or coaching may be purchased one (1) time per season
- You may [b]NOT[/b] do Bugdget and Professional equipment/coaching. Its one or the other
- TPE gained from equipment may NOT be redistrubited
- Each piece of Budget equipment costs $1,000,000
- Each piece of Professional equipment costs $3,000,000

Budget: +2 TPE in Speed and Agility
Professional: +4 TPE in Speed and Agility

Budget: +2 TPE in Hands and Pass blocking and Run blocking
Professional: +4 TPE in Hands and Pass blocking and Run blocking

Budget: +2 TPE in Tackle and Strength
Professional: +4 TPE in Tackle and Strength

[u][b]Extra time after practice[/b][/u] - Can be purchased by any position
Budget: +2 TPE in Intelligence and Endurance
Professional: +4 TPE in Intelligence and Endurance

DT Changes and Robot OL attributes - Anyone who has OVER these attributes for Speed as a DT may re-assign those TPE at no charge. Changes MUST be made before Pre-Season.

Archetype Changes
Code:
One (1) time per career a player may choose to switch archetypes. If a player chooses to switch to a new archetpe they must post in their update thread that the player is officially changing archetypes.
- If a player chooses to switch archetypes they, or the team (from the teams salary cap) must pay $4,000,000 to make the switch.
- If a player changes archetypes they will be allowed to move 50% of their total TPE to new attributes. No attribute may go over the maximum value allowed with the new archetype, even if it was above it before the position switch.
- If a player needs to add or drop weight to fit the new archetype they may do so as much as is needed
- If a player is too short or tall for the new archetype they may change their height to the minimum required height (if they were too short before the switch) or the maximum allowed height (if they were too tall before the switch) for their new archetype

Restricted Free Agent Tag
Code:
Each team may tag 1 player per off season with the Restricted Free Agency Tag.
- A player must have played 3 or more consecutive seasons with the team to be tagged. The consecutive seasons must be at the point in their career when they are being tagged and may not be from an earlier time in their career
- If a team RFA tags a player they have the right to match any accepted offer that player in free agency has agreed to. If the tagging team chooses to match an offer they automatically win the bid and get the player. The team who tagged the player has 48 hours from the time the player accepts the offer to state that they are matching it.

Regression
Code:
Regression begins in the off season between 7th and 8th season.
8th season 15% TPE loss
9th season 15% TPE loss
10th season 20% TPE loss
11th season 20% TPE loss
12th season 25% TPE loss
13th season 25% TPE loss
14th season 30% TPE loss
15th season 30% TPE loss
16th season 40% TPE loss
17th season 40% TPE loss
18th season 50% TPE loss
19th season 50% TPE loss
20th season 75% TPE loss
21st season 75% TPE loss
75% ongoing

Clarification on when contracts end - I will be adding into the rulebook to make it clear that a contract does not end when the team is eliminated from the playoffs, but when Free Agency starts. That means the only team who can negotiate with a player who is an upcoming free agent is the team who holds his rights. The player may negotiate with other teams once Free Agency has officially started, otherwise there is no points in having a players rights.

Just so there is clarification for archetype changes.

When changing an archetype we do not lose any TPE, we are simply able to redistribute half the points as we see fit, and I assume if we are already over a new limit from the new archetype those points must be redistributed as part of the 50%.

Is there going to be future changes to the regression system? I don't think Kickers, Punters, and QBs regress that much after 8 years. Hell, most QBs have the best years if their career in their 9th-10th season.

Unlikely, I understand that in real life certain positions deteriorate faster than others, but thats not the goal here. We dont want the league to have the same 8 starting QBs for 15 seasons. Its a lot easier to find a franchise QB in a sim league than it is in real life. With this setup players will be able to be great players well into regression if they work hard, just like how hard a guy like Tom Brady has to work at his age to still be great.

Some positions do regress faster than others, but that gets into dangerous territory as well. Most O line and TE take a year of poor play to really excel, but then tend to play QB length careers. Also, given that there are no restrictions on which position you actually play, everyone could just switch to more sustainable positions in year 7.

Better to affect every position equally.
