*There Round S22 Mock Draft - CalvinGolladay - 03-30-2020

Credit to BayleyIsland for his mock expansion draft (team needs are made under the assumption that his mock comes true), BenStackinPaper for his mock draft (I copy/pasted the draft order he used, with some modifications), and FurFurson with his list of players by TPE.

Round One:

1) Austin Copperheads (from Honolulu): Phat Boi, DT, Kansas City Coyotes Phat Boi leads his class in TPE, fills a need for the Copperheads, and should be the consensus 1OA pick. He's already familiar with Austin as one of the most active members of their rookie LR section.

2) New Orleans Second Line (from Sarasota): Stanislaw Koniecpolski, LB, Dallas Birddogs. As the best team in the NSFL NOLA can afford a luxury pick here, taking the 2nd highest TPE member of the class to replace two great LBs approaching regression. They may not need an LB immediately, but the TPE dropoff is big enough that they elect to pick BPA

3) San Jose Sabercats: Troen Egghands, DE, Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. Though adding Tyler Oles Jr. here for a young, elite CB tandem is tempting here, the Sabercats have a major need at DE. Egghands isn't quite BPA here in terms of TPE but he's still a blue-chip talent that can step in and solve a need immediately.

4) Arizona Outlaws: Tyler Oles Jr., CB, Portland Pythons. White Goodman is a possibility here, but with Lucas Knight approaching regression the Outlaws could use another lockdown CB. Oles is an elite player at a position where top players are put at a premium.

5) Philadelphia Liberty: Derred De Ville, LB, London Royals. The Liberty have several holes on defense and look to take the best defenders available here. De Ville has been an animal for the Royals this season and shouldn't be seen as a consolation prize for the team that misses out on Stanislaw.

6) Philadelphia Liberty (from Chicago): Magnus Rikiya, DT, Norfolk Seawolves. Philly heavily considers a CB here, but with CB depth being a strength of this class they take the best DL on the board knowing they can still land a top CB in the 2nd or 3rd round. Rikiya is an excellent player that consistently posts quality media and is a great person to have in the locker room.

7) Yellowknife Wraiths: Jeffery Phillips, TE, Dallas Birddogs. Phillips is the clear best TE in the class and top-three in TPE. Positional value can be overlookedd when an elite player fills a massive need.

8) Honolulu Hahalua (from Austin): Brandon Booker, CB, Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. After adding one CB in the expansion draft the Hahalua still need another CB opposite Adams. Kehla, Avery, and Bumper would also be excellent picks here, but Booker gets the nod due to his slight TPE edge.

9) Colorado Yeti: Eldrick Avery, CB, London Royals. With Sinclair and Hornbacher hitting regression, another CB opposite Louisiana Purchase is needed. The Yeti might as well flip a coin here, as they face a similar situation to Honolulu.

10) Orange County Otters: Octavio Clemente, DT, Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. OCO still needs another DT alongside Rapid Eagle, and this will create an elite duo in the trenches for years. Clemente is the best DT on the board, making this a relatively easy pick for the Otters.

11) Baltimore Hawks: Deshun Jones, DT, Dallas Birddogs. You can pretty much copy and paste the above, but with Jones and Beamer instead of Clemente and Eagle. The two will be a slightly less impressive but still formidable force on the defensive line.

12) New Orleans Second Line: Ben Slothlisberger, QB, Tijuana Luchadores. I chose to stay consistent with other mocks here and give NOLA my QB Sloth and the best one available. They're going to have a need at QB with Francisco hitting regression, so Tijuana GM Jay Doctor pounds the table for his QB to be the pick.

Round Two:

13) Honolulu Hahalua: Sandro Ryeu, DE, London Royals. Having already addressed CB in the 1st round and going offense heavy in the expansion draft, Honolulu takes a DE to play opposite Bjorn Ironside.

14) Sarasota Sailfish: Jim Waters, QB, Tijuana Luchadores. Having failed to address QB in the expansion draft, the Sailfish take Waters as the 2nd QB, also from Tijuana, comes off the board. He fell to the 180th pick in the DSFL draft but has been neck-and-neck in TPE with Slothlisberger, the 4th overall pick, Sarasota makes sure the slide doesn't repeat itself.

15) San Jose Sabercats: Monterey Jack, QB, Dallas Birddogs. As a San Jose GM, Monty is locked into this 2nd round selection.

16) Arizona Outlaws: White Goodman, RB, Dallas Birddogs. Despite being a recreate with over 200 TPE, Goodman falls to the middle of the 2nd due to lack of need for RBs. Arizona still has a young RB in Ruff Ruff, but the value here is too much to pass up.

17) Arizona Outlaws (from Philadelphia): Matt “Son of Havoc” Cross, S, Norfolk Seawolves. The last 200 TPE prospect on the board, the Outlaws are able to take the best player available while still filling their hole at safety opposite Nkiah.

18) Philadelphia Liberty (from Chicago): Zamir Kehla, CB, Portland Pythons. Philly's patience pays off, as they land a top CB prospect with their 2nd rounder. Kehla could easily go in the first and could easily wind up being a steal.

19) Yellowknife Wraiths: Colby Jack, QB, London Royals. The second Jack brother is another GM recreate that's locked in here.

20) Austin Copperheads: Thubba Bumper, CB, Norfolk Seawolves. Bumper is the last of this top tier of CBs, as the Copperheads employ a strategy similar to the Liberty's and land a great CB after taking their elite DT in round one.

21) Colorado Yeti: Mo "Mamba" Magic, DT, Minnesota Grey Ducks. This pick is all about value, with Magic being the last top DT available. They may not need a top DT with Thumper already in place, but Magic and Thumper can rotate at DE where the Colorado just lost Blackstone to the expansion draft.

22) Orange County Otters: Heath Evans, TE, Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. Though they may eye Patrik Money with this pick, they opt for the higher TPE player in Evans. TE might not have the positional importance of DE, but Evans is the pick because of his TPE and the Otters' lack of a TE.

23) Chicago Butchers (From Baltimore): Bayley Benson Jr., LB, Dallas Birddogs. Cadillac Harris was originally slotted here, but after being hired to GM the Butchers Benson is locked in here as the pick.

24) New Orleans Second Line: Eddie Jeeta, WR, Kansas City Coyotes. The best way to develop a young QB is by protecting him and giving him weapons. They already have the pieces for the former, and Jeeta helps with the latter.

Round Three:

25) Honolulu Hahalua: Acura Skyline, RB, London Royals. Skyline is excellent value after falling due to lack of need, and will be a great running mate to go with their other young RB in Michael Vincent.

26) Sarasota Sailfish: Buck Thornton, S, Minnesota Grey Ducks. Thornton starts a run on DBs here as the best one available. With so many needs the Sailfish almost have to go BPA.

27) San Jose Sabercats: Cadillac Harris, CB, London Royals. Once again positional value, need, and value all meet, with Harris being the best 2nd tier CB by a slim margin.

28) Arizona Outlaws: Patrik Money, DE, Kansas City Coyotes. DEs are at a premium, especially in Arizona, but don't interpret it as a reach. The Outlaws are able to continue their excellent draft with the best defensive lineman on the board.

29) Baltimore Hawks (from Philadelphia, via Chicago): Andrew Witten, CB, Tijuana Luchadores. Witten is one of the best CBs in this second tier, providing both a great locker room presence and a potential shutdown option on the boundary. The Hawks will be able to spend elsewhere on contracts given Witten's consistent publishing of Media.

30) Philadelphia Liberty (from Chicago): Johnny Hellzapoppin, S, Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. Philly's defensive overhaul continues with the best defender on the board. Defensive line should be in strong consideration, but Hellzapoppin is too good to pass up.

31) Yellowknife Wraiths: Quinn Hughes, S, London Royals. The DB run continues with the last top safety prospect coming off the board. Just like the Liberty they should look at a defensive lineman with this pick, but once again the value at safety is too much to ignore as it also fills a need.

32) Honolulu Hahalua (From Chicago): Luke Skywalker, QB, Norfolk Seawolves. The Hahalua managed to grab Cooter Bigsby in the expansion draft, but he'll soon be regressing. Skywalker is the best QB on the board and a great option to develop behind Bigsby for a season or two.

33) Colorado Yeti: William Lim, WR, Dallas Birddogs. Wide receiver isn't a major need for the Yeti, but it's hard to pass up on Lim in the 3rd round. He's clearly the best player left on the board, and should work his way into a starting role relatively soon.

34) Orange County Otters: Kichwa Jones, RB, Dallas Birddogs. Jones may have been overshadowed by Goodman this year, but he's still a top RB in the class. Sarvepally will be retired after the season and Bigsby is getting older, so Jones will be a great upgrade to step in once Sarvepally retires.

35) Baltimore Hawks: Lawrence Bass, LB, Minnesota Grey Ducks. The Hawks continue their work on defense, having already upgraded in the trenches and the secondary. It's essentially a coin flip between Bass and TE Daniel George, as the two represent the best players at two major needs. George holds a slight lead in TPE, but Bass' positional importance is enough for him to be the selection.

36) Sarasota Sailfish (From New Orleans): Big Edd, DT, Dallas Birddogs. The Sailfish failed to select a defensive tackle in the expansion draft, which is a big hole they need to fix. Edd may not be the best player on the board, but he's good enough that our final pick shouldn't be classified as a reach.

Any criticism is welcome, I know there a glaring lack of OL here. Sorry if explanations got a bit repetitive, I tried to vary things a bit.
