Ray-Ray Jackson Claimed by Minnesota Grey Ducks

Ray-Ray Jackson waits by his phone, hoping that his dream of finally being able to play football professionally can become a reality. Starting from his young touch football days all the way to his senior year at Alabama, there's only been one thing on Jackson's mind. Keeping the promise he made with his parents that he would take care of them when he finally made it big. There he sat.

With Jackson being placed on waivers, a few DSFL teams had contacted him about potentially coming in as a back-up to bolster their secondaries. With the season coming to its final few weeks, this was the perfect time for Jackson to get on a roster and showcase himself. But nothing was set in stone. A ton of rookies were also added to the waiver wire, especially those fighting for the same spot as Jackson. But, he finally got the call. It was the Minnesota Grey Ducks. They had previously inquired about Jackson, as a potential late play-off push addition to the roster. Jackson's talents had impressed the Grey Ducks at Alabama and saw this as a great opportunity to add Jackson to the secondary, even if it's only for a few games.

A local Canadian beat reporter was able to get a comment out of Jackson after the news had broke. Jackson had this to say when asked about what has transpired within the last 48 hours.

"The anticipation has been killing me. I knew that I had a shot at being picked up but theirs always that thought in the back of your head asking yourself if you did enough. Thankfully for me and my family, Minnesota was able to snag me and give me a chance. I know going into this journey that I might not be able to even get in for a snap but going out their every day and competing with the rest of the team will be a great learning experience for me. The Grey Ducks have a fantastic secondary, which I got to watch first hand last night. They've been causing turnovers left and right and have seamlessly helped Minnesota make a long shot push at the playoffs. I'm excited to learn from these guys and my goal is to gain as much knowledge as possible."

Jackson awaits for his first practice with the team and can't wait to join the roster. He wants to compete with the rest of the secondary and maybe earn himself a few snaps in the upcoming games. He is extremely grateful for the opportunity and isn't going to let this chance slip away. One thing is for sure. The Ray-Ray Jackson story is about to begin.
