*A newcomer’s experience and reflection - ForSucksFake - 04-05-2020
Being one of several rookies joining the NSFL as part of a massive draft class, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m generally a pretty shy person. My social anxiety extends to my online interactions. I don’t play a lot of multiplayer games online for this reason. But, I’d do anything to live out my fantasies as a football player. For the first couple of weeks, I closed myself in. I participated in certain activities, but really didn’t talk to anyone. Then I joined the NSFL rookie discord and slowly started to really enjoy myself. Not only have I made some good online friends to pass the lonely COVID-19-riddles days, but several people have stepped in to help me avoid falling through the cracks. Let’s be honest, life in the NSFL isn’t very easy. But it’s worth it.
I’m really glad I joined the NSFL. My first season was pretty rough from a statistical perspective. My team missed out on the playoffs in the most heartbreaking way late in the season. I don’t think I caught a single touchdown. (I wanted to feel like I contributed to the team.) But, I’m excited to see how far we can go as a team next year. So until then, I’ll be grinding away putting my stress and anxiety from the real world into something constructive, even if it’s virtual. It’s good for the self-esteem. NSFL draft, here I come! Thanks for having me, NSFL community. I hope I can stick around for a long time.

I wouldnt worry about stats, asl ong as you are putting i nthe grind they will come.
