Allen Davis declares for draft - XxpurplepurpsxX - 07-13-2017

Many of you NSFL fans out there might not have heard yet, but Allen Davis Free Safety out of the University of Arizona officially declared for the draft this last week. Unless you followed U of A football this year you might not know much about Davis. The 20 year old safety weighed in at 190 pounds and stood six foot one inch tall. Davis is best defined as a playmaker, he was well known in the PAC-12 for his ability to defend passes and catch interceptions. He excelled in college using a mix of speed and agility to be able to change routes and catch up to Receivers in order to shut down the passing game. Davis made a living playing the deep center field in college, opposing quarterbacks were very wary of throwing deep against the Wildcats with Davis holding down the secondary.

While Allen Davis did have his bright spots in college many are wondering how he will transition from college to the pros? Is he strong enough to be able to assert himself in the league? Does he have the commitment it takes to grow and flourish into a star? Davis tried to answer some of the questions surrounding him in a presser held today where he fielded all sorts of questions. Allen Davis's agent told reporters that he has been visiting with various teams since declaring for the draft and is really looking forward to making an impact in the league.

While Allen Davis declaring for the draft isn't going to shake up all the mock drafts too heavily, we expect there to be some interest for the young safety. Many teams are looking for young players devoted to their growth and development so I would not be surprised to see a team take a chance on the young developing player. Wherever Davis gets drafted he claims to be devoted to improvement and looking forward to putting in work with his new team.
