The NSFL Top 50: 50-41
The NSFL Top 50: 40-31

This is the NSFL Top 50 for S22 as voted by the players. The votes have been tallied and assigned points in the following manner, if someone was voted as the 1st player they received 30 points, 2nd 29 points, 3rd 28 points, so on and so forth until 30th 1point. Without further adieu, here are players 30 to 21:
  • 30. Ashley Owens - RB - COL - @run_CMC
    S21 Stats: 209 carries, 819 yards, 4 TDs; 62 receptions, 602 yards, 4 TDs; 59 returns, 1197 yards, 1 TD
Owens proved once again that he is a jack of all trades offensively. Owens doesn’t stand out in any one particular measurement, but the entire body of his work is impressive. It's clear that Owens is a key piece of the Yeti offense.

  • 29. Marquees Acho - CB - BAL - @Huskies311
    S21 Stats: 49 tackles, 1 FR, 19 PDs, 4 INTs; 31 returns, 714 yards
Acho tied for the league’s lead in interceptions in S21. He also finished third in passes defended making a case as one of the league’s most feared corners. Acho’s performance on the field easily clinched him a Pro Bowl appearance this season.

  • 28. Maurice Virtanen - LB - YKW - @`BaconBrother`
    S21 Stats: 83 tackles, 13 sacks, 1 FF, 1 FR, 7 PDs
Virtanen finished second in the league in the sacks. He put up a very similar season to Tyron Brackenridge (#33). Virtanen beat him by a sack and a FF/FR, but other than that extremely close in performance. Virtanen made it to the Pro Bowl on the back of his strong pass rush.

  • 27. Lanzer Grievous - LB - OCO - @Rising Equinox
    S21 Stats: 105 tackles, 10 sacks, 2 TFLs, 1 FF, 10 PDs, 1 INT
Grievous played a more traditional LB role than some of the previous LBs on the list who specialized in pass rushing. Grievous broke the 100 tackle barrier, finished tied for 5th in the league in sacks, while also performing well in pass coverage. Grievous clinched a S21 Pro Bowl appearance this season as well.

  • 26. Quenton Bode - LB - NOLA - @terriblehippo
    S21 Stats: 115 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 TFLs, 1 FF, 3 PDs
Bode finished the season tied 5th for tackles in the league. Other than that his numbers are average for his position. He is deserving of a spot in the Top 50, but I feel as though some linebackers who we have already seen put up stronger numbers in S21. It cannot be disputed though that Bode was a key piece of the Second Line defense that won the Ultimus in S21.

  • 25. Rod Tidwell - WR - AUS - @SDCore
    S21 Stats: 60 receptions, 1100 yards, 3 TDs
Tidwell finished 6th in the league in receiving yards, but other that a season extremely similar to that of Action Jackson (#49). Tidwell’s 60 receptions is 8 less than Jackson’s and Tidwell also came 37 yards short of Jackson’s total. It is surprising to me to see that voters used a lack of TDs against Jackson and Jammerson Irving (#50) but not Tidwell here.

  • 24. Easton Cole - QB - AUS - @JKortesi81
    S21 Stats: 293comp/509att, 3686 yards, 22 TDs, 11 INTs; 39 carries, 185 yards, 3 TDs
Cole finished second in the league in passing yards and fifth in TDs. Due to the volume passing attack that the Copperheads employed, Cole also ended up throwing the most interceptions in the league.

  • 23. Marcella T?riki - RB - NOLA - @bex
    S21 Stats: 184 carries, 873 yards, 7 TDs; 42 catches, 429 yards, 4 TDs
T?riki was part of the one-two punch combo in the Second Line backfield. T?riki and Forrest Gump (#??) combined to make one of the league’s most feared backfields on the eventual S21 Champion Second Line. T?riki was extremely efficient with her carries, finishing 2nd (among RBs with at least 50 carries) in YpC with 4.7 YpC.

  • 22. Lucas Knight - CB - SAR - @ven_knight
    S21 Stats: 60 tackles, 8 PDs, 2 INTs; 52 returns, 1104 return yards, 2 TDs
Knight had a good season for the Outlaws defensively and did even better as their return specialist. Knight was able to grab 2 INTs, but his 8 PDs were a little lower than average for his position. Knight excelled as a returner though, he was only one of two players to return both a kickoff and a punt for a touchdown. Knight will be suiting for a new team in S22 as he was selected by the expansion Sailfish in the expansion draft.

  • 21. Laszlo Forty-Two - WR - YKW - @C9Van
    S21 Stats: 65 receptions, 1071 yards, 7 TDs; 3 returns, 66 return yards
Forty-Two was the main focus of the Yeti’s passing attack in S21. Forty-Two finished third amongst WRs in receptions. Forty-Two also was top 8 in yards and touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance. However, he was left exposed in the expansion draft and was selected by the Sailfish before eventually being traded to the Wraiths.
There you have it, the third iteration of our NSFL Top 50. Congratulations to the players that were named to the NSFL Top 50 by their peers. Stay tuned for players 20-11 that will be released on April 27.
