Comparing the top four season 2 offensive line prospects

Today we'll be thoroughly analyzing the top four offensive linemen in the season two draft:

Tim Pest-Arizona Outlaws
Pest leads all season 2 lineman in pancakes, with 42. This puts him at 10th in the entire league, despite only playing 13 games on the season. He averages 3.23 pancakes a game, which is exceptional, putting him near the top of the league. His only negative comes from his pass-blocking struggles; he leads all human players with 12 sacks allowed, which is 3 sacks more than the next real player. That's just under a sack a game, which can't continue into the next season. Tim's pancake to sack ratio was also disappointing, as his 12 sacks brought it down to 3.5. Pest seems to primarily be a run blocker, and could definitely excel on as a right tackle.

Gregory Clegane-Orange County Otters
Clegane is generally seen as the top season 2 lineman talent wise, however personality issues may bring down his draft stock. Clegane stated he will refuse to sign with any team who drafts him in the first round except for the Otters. He says he'll sign with any team if drafted in the second round or later, however the chances of him being drafted that late are slim. Clegane had 40 pancakes on the season in 14 games, averaging 2.85 per game. While Clegane didn't keep up with Pest in terms of pancakes per game, he smoked him in pancake-sack ratio along with sacks allowed. Clegane only allowed 7 sacks on the year, compared to Pest's 12. Clegane's pancake to sack ratio was 5.71, more than two more than Pest's. If teams call his bluff about signing, he could be the #2 pick in the draft, but his recent statements definitely will have all teams being cautious.

Vincent Sharpei-Baltimore Hawks
Sharpei was one of the two season 2 offensive lineman to play all 14 regular season games. Sharpei finished as a bottom-half lineman in his pre-rookie season, however he'll only grow in the coming years. Sharpei had 32 sacks in 14 games, only averaging 2.28 pancakes per game. He allowed eight sacks on the season putting him at .57 sacks per game. His pancake to sack ratio was 4.0, tied with Jordan Yates. Overall, Sharpei is a balanced lineman with no personality issues who would be a good mid-first round pick for any team.

Jordan Yates-Orange County Otters
Teammate of Gregory Clegane, Yates was picked up late into the season and only played in four games. Yates played alright in some aspects, but his pancakes were horrid. He only got eight pancakes on the season, averaging 2.0 per game. On the bright side, he only allowed two sacks in four games, averaging 0.5 per game. His pancake to sack ratio was middle of the road at 4.0, tied with Vincent Sharpei. Yates has shown he is a good pass protector, however his small sample size make him have an element of risk for any team to pick.

Final stat comparisons:
Pancakes per game:
Pest 3.23 1st
Clegane 2.85 2nd
Sharpei 2.28 3rd
Yates 2.0 4th

Sacks allowed per game:
Clegane 0.5 T-1st
Yates 0.5 T-1st
Sharpei 0.57 2nd
Pest 0.92 3rd

Pancake to sack ratio:
Clegane 5.71 1st
Yates 4.0 T-2nd
Sharpei 4.0 T-2nd
Pest 3.5 3rd

Overall, in terms of strictly talent, Clegane is the supreme lineman in this draft. He's in the top two for all per game stats, and has a huge league in pancake to sack ratio. Pest should be the second lineman taken, assuming he is placed in a primarily run blocking role. Sharpei and Yates have similar per game stats, but Sharpei's extra ten games of film will likely make him picked before. Yates will likely be picked somewhere in the second round as the fourth lineman taken.
