*Baby Yoda Checks In with the Fans - SwagSloth - 05-18-2020 [div align=\\\"center\\\"] [/div] Hi again, Outlaw fans! I’ve been super busy this season, so I haven’t gotten a chance to write much, but I’ve been working hard to get better at my job. The team is teaching me how to “run between tackles” and do the truck move. I used to just try to run away from the defense when I played in the DSFL, but they’re teaching me to try different things, so I don’t seem as “predictable”. It’s been a very hard season for the team. We’re currently ranked last on our side, which means the other teams are doing better than us. That made me really sad. But I also remembered that you should still be proud of yourself if you worked hard and we worked really hard this season, so I told the team to be proud and not be sad about it. If they are learning as much as I learned this season, I think we will be a much better team next season. I have had a few people ask me about the rookie award. Jay told me it was called “Offensive Rookie of the Year” (he made me write that down) and he said I am a runner-up for it. I will hope I will win it because it will show everyone that I worked really hard this season. A lot of people don’t take me seriously because I am so small, I do my stretches every day to try to get bigger, but I don’t think it is working, so maybe winning an award will help instead since I'll still be very small after the stretches. But I thought about it, too, and if I do win, that doesn’t seem fair, either, because of all the help the team gave me. They went over the playbook with me before practice and explained to me how to line up on the field. It’s hard because you have to change where you stand for different plays and sometimes, I get to move to the right spot, but then someone will tell me where to go before Jay snaps the ball. They're also teaching me some good exercises to do in the gym, so I can get stronger and have a lot of muscles like them. I also tried to run a lot more, so that I could stay on the field longer without getting so tired. I always take a big nap afterward, but there’s no time to nap during the game, so they told me to improve my “conditioning” and I won’t get tired as fast. They even got me to try switching to grilled chicken nuggets, but they don’t taste as good as real chicken nuggets, so I switched back. I don’t think the people eating the grilled chicken know what they’re missing out on. Saba did show me a new type of chocolate milk called “protein shakes”, which taste a little funny at first, but they’re still better than the yucky gator drink they give us at practice. Just because I’m green doesn’t mean I like something that a gator would drink. Anyway, I heard that this award has a committee and that they look at the stats from each game to figure out who gets each award. Bruce was nice enough to help me look up all my stats on the computer, so I could share them with you. 202 carries, 754 rushing yards, 3.7 yards per carry, 7 rushing touchdowns 52 catches, 308 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns 21 pancakes, 1 sack allowed That means I got over a thousand “yards from scrimmage”, which seems like a lot to me. We still have 2 games left this season, but I’m hoping I continue to do a good job. I want everyone to be proud of me. I did have some of the fans tell me I was doing a good job in “fantasy football”. I guess that’s good because, if I’m not winning in real football, maybe I can at least win in the fantasy version. At first, I thought they meant the NSFL football game for the Playstation, but then they said it was something different. But I love all types of football, even fantasy football, so I’m going to try to learn more about it. Oh and I almost forgot! While I'm talking about the season, our defense is doing a great job, too. I don't talk about them a lot because they're on the other team when we practice and they can be really tough to play against sometimes, but that's only for the practice games we play. I'm glad they're on our team in the real games! Galt, Shane, and Pete have been doing really good at sacking the other Quarterback, so we can get the ball back. Shane and Sandro have also been getting a lot of yucky tackles for loss, which help us, I guess... but I still don't like that. It reminds me of when they tackle me in practice. Coach also told me our "secondary" is doing good this season, but I don't think that term is fair because I wouldn't want anyone calling me secondary; you guys are firsts to me for sure. But Tyler is getting a lot of Pass Deflections and the rest of the guys are doing really good with interceptions. Keep it up! Even though I'm on the offense, we still like rooting for you guys when we're sitting on the sidelines drinking our gator drinks (which are almost as yucky as tackles for loss). I want to thank Bruce and Saba for “proofreading” the parts above. They try to help me with my spelling, so people don’t make fun of the way I spell words. It’s very hard when you come from another country because English is a really funny language. But I practice getting better at that, too, so maybe one day I won’t need as much help. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed reading about my season. Keep cheering for us at the games and we’ll see if we can win another game before the season is over. Bye bye! We just finished a big practice, so I'm going to go take a nap. I'm hoping to do at least one follow-up article at the end of the season. Maybe a game by game breakdown through his eyes. Note to the graders: I'm working on expanding this to 1000+ words just in case it applies for 1.5x draft media. Since it was originally posted a day before, it may not qualify, but I figured it was worth a try. |
