Graphics Department Update #2 - caltroit_red_flames - 05-25-2020

This is going to be a much smaller update compared to the last one.

I just wanted to take a look at the grading systems and say that essentially I think the current system is a success.

May was the first month where we've been able to use the new system for the entire duration. Here is a month by month comparison of the number of graded submissions.

January - 52
February - 41
March - 62
April - 52
May - 77

So obviously May has the most graded submissions by a decent amount. That was with us being down one grader. We'll be hiring another grader this offseason so watch out for the application!

The other thing I want to bring up is huge submissions that, while they are appreciated, tend to slow down our grading process. You can find examples of these large submissions here:

Grading 10+ submissions per post can definitely cause some grading fatigue and while we want to encourage people to make graphics, the fact that the grade scale allows for up to 3 million per signature means someone could earn well over what they need by submitting 2 quality graphics per week. With that in mind a limit of 4 or 5 graphics per week does not sound insensible. We'll be submitting a proposal to HO with more example.

That's your graphics update for now, I'll post the job listing some time this week.

Happy Memorial Day!
