The Otters 33-23 defeat of the Outlaws was a score not yet seen in the NSFL and was recorded into the officially unofficial NSFL Scorigami record books as such. Our stats based predictions got off to a decent start, getting 5/6 of the games winners correctly predicted. We didn't forsee the Hawks defeating the Wraiths which was the only one incorrect. Copperheads defeat of the Hahalua paired with the Wraiths losing out to the Hawks was enough to let Copperheads slither into second place in the rankings. Meanwhile, SaberCats defeat of the Second Line earned them 29.29 points and cost the same for NOLA which resulted in the two swapping places. Second Line are now on the verge of dropping out of the top 6 with only 20 points seperating them from #7 Sailfish. Hahalua might have lost the game this week but the actually still gained a rank in the tables thanks to the Outlaws who lost harder. But only just. Hahalua dropped 16.20 compared to Arizona who dropped 20.24. The weekly rankings after week 1 are as follows: 1 (=) 1,651.66 2(+1) 1,625.92 3(-1) 1,612.48 4 (=) 1,583.26 5(+1) 1,564.79 6(-1) 1,519.89 7 (=) 1,490.82 8 (=) 1,439.25 9(+1) 1,438.59 10(+1) 1,409.14 11(-2) 1,405.34 12 (=) 1,261.07 Week 2 @ Otters still sitting happily in the #1 spot making happy Otter noises. They wont gain much score here with a win over the #10 team but they can lose a whole bunch if they get upset. If they drop here, Copperheads have a good chance of taking that #1 spot. Good thing for the Otters that it's quite unlikely they lose. 85.45% chance they win. @ Liberty may be 8th in the table but the nearly 200 point difference between them and the Butchers before taking into account home field advantage means that Liberty go into this week as the heavy favourites. Due to the way the system works, Butchers need to get within 130 Elo points and have home field advantage before they'll be odds on favourites so they'll be looking for a win in tough conditions such as this to give them the significant Elo bump they are looking for. Liberty are the favourites with 80.22% odds. @ SaberCats looking to recapture the magic of early last season and mount another charge through the tables. They started stron with a solid win over the Second Line to get into the top 5. This should be a win for them to let them keep climbing and narrow the gap to the top 3. SaberCats take it 78.45% @ After a bit of an awkward loss to #8 ranked Hawks, the Wraiths have slipped back one spot in the rankings. They saved some face thanks to only losing by 1 point so they are still very much in contention for the top spot again at the moment. They'll need to win here to avoid more backwards movement however. 74.55% chance they do just that. @ Defending ultimus champs and, therefore, still holders of the title belt Yeti face the Hawks this week who are fresh of upsetting the #2 ranked Wraiths last week. Can the Hawks do it again or will they regress back to last seasons form? Yeti to win 61.27% @ Matchup of the week for sure. Freshly minted holders of the #2 slot against a classic strong team who won the ultimus just two seasons ago struggling to hold onto their place in the top 6. Copperheads are the better team right now but NOLA have the home field advantage to give them a boost. This gives us an almost to-close-to-call result of Copperheads with a 55.88% chance of winning.
