*Crossley Chronicles #1 - ajtigger - 07-27-2020

Hello everyone, Zach Crossley here with the first episode of the Crossley Chronicles. The goal of this blog is to detail my experience as I prepare for and hopefully play in the DSFL this season. I hope you all enjoy my first episode and feel free to ask any questions you may have of me. Will try and answer in future articles. Much luv - Zach

I sit here in the Philadelphia airport thinking about how this last week has felt like a blur and how the next week will probably go by even faster. I’ve said good-bye to all my friends and family here in Philly and I’ve downed my last steak (for those wondering I’m a Jim’s on South Street kind of guy) before I head out to the biggest moment of my career, the Prospect Bowl. I know I will be back in a week for draft night, but this feels like a real change in who I am. I am stepping into the realm of professional football and I am ready for the challenge.

My old high school and college coaches have been calling all week, telling me they believe I am going to be a top choice in the upcoming DSFL draft. They say my college resume is just to good to ignore. I have text messages from all my old flames telling me don’t forget about them when I make it big or to call them to party when I am back in town. While they may be giving me kind words now, I know the truth. The fact of the matter is that right now my friends, family, league scouts and coaches all don’t believe I will be a top player. The latest Big Board shows me ranked as the 15th out of 16 draft eligible wide receivers.

This week is the week I need to showcase all my skills to those watching. I need to show every coach, general manager and scout that I am capable of taking my game to the professional ranks. While I may not be the biggest, fastest or strongest player at the Prospect Bowl this week, I know one thing; I will be the hardest worker of anyone there. I will show my dedication and drive to be the best wide receiver I can be. I may not leave the games as the new top pick but everyone will know who I am and that I belong at the next level.

And you best believe I will never forget what the current perception of my play is. That mock draft will be printed out and hung on my wall to motivate me for the rest of my career. I know I will succeed.
