*The Pancake House #1 - TMosura - 08-05-2020

Hello, hello? Is this thing on? Wait, it’s a written blog, nevermind. So, my agent had told me to potentially make a blog, a weekly blog, even. I guess I could reach the quota as long as I make it interesting in every post I make. He also suggested “Off the Trenches” for the name of my blog, but I think “The Pancake House” seems more fitting. And hilarious. Well, with that being said, expect these sorts of things from me throughout my career, probably. Onto this week!

So you might be asking, how does a DSFL prospect live their life before the draft rolls to town, and even before the announcement of the Prospect Bowl team rosters? Why, watching the ISFL draft, of course! Honestly, watching that draft is so intense. Seeing all of those talented players go off the board and to their respective teams makes me giddy, for some odd reason. Well, more so the offensive linemen, of course. #FairRubsGang, baby. Well, Twitter also was a good distraction/alternative to the monotony of training and my daily life. Pretty sure 1/4th of the DSFL prospects follow me there now. Don’t quote me on that. Actually, pretty sure even them Philadelphia Liberty followed me. Is this tampering?

Either way, when it was time for the Prospect Bowl, they shipped me off to Tiburon with the Landsharks. I have never heard of that city, and trust me I have zero clues about what to expect when I get there to start training with the team. But guess what? Tiburon is nice. Sunny, tropical… Florida too. Either way, my first taste of the big boy games is admittedly… tough. The playbook looked like an advanced version of what I’ve learned from my time in the Pathway Program, and I had a hard time learning it, but I was getting there. Slowly but surely, when the playing weeks rolled in, we were actually able to win games! Who woulda think about that? Well, until the playoffs, that is. Oh lord.

Trust me when I say it was a close game. We would’ve been able to try to mount a comeback, but it wasn’t meant to be. Throughout the weeks, I saw a limited amount of game time due to the style the team was rolling in with a run-heavy offense. I didn’t mind, but I wished I could’ve proven something more. Nonetheless, what’s done is done, and all that’s left is towards the DSFL draft. One more day. And honestly, I’m excited. I’m one of few international athletes participating in the draft, and I’m one of few who didn’t go through the big college programs as some did. I have something to prove, now. Watch me.
