Week Eight and Nine

Agent Tesla: Hello and good time appropriate greeting dear readers of the league! We are here today to bring you the highlights from the latest doubleheader of the Developmental Simulation Football League! Joining me today to form the we that are bringing you these highlights is Sim Rep who represents the sim. Now tell us about the first game of week eight please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Norfolk Seawolves at Minnesota Grey Ducks. Grey Ducks won 35 to 3. Offensive player of the game is running back Timothy Martins III of the Minnesota Grey Ducks with a stat line of 36 rushing attempts for 120 yards, an average run of 3.3 yards, a long of 9 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Agent Tesla: Three yards and a cloud of dust can still get it done today apparently! Now Timothy got their big plays in early with their first 9 yard run coming on a first and ten in the first quarter, and their second 9 yard run coming on the third and one that followed. Proving that 3 yards is plenty that is exactly what Timothy ran for on a fourth and one in the second quarter to keep the ball. Combined with their 1 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and this was clearly their game. Now if you would tell us about defense please Sim Rep I would appreciate it!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Ryan Scott of the Norfolk Seawolves with a stat line of 15 tackles and 1 sack.

Agent Tesla: I have to say I am surprised by this one, but the sim does love their tacklers! Although they do have two plays we can highlight for you today. The first came on a third and eight in the first quarter where Scott made the tackle that forced a punt. While the second saw Scott secure a seven yard sack on second and one to put them in a third and long situation. Decently deserved award I would say.

Now onto game two of week eight please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Kansas City Coyotes at London Royals. Coyotes won 22 to 13. Offensive player of the game is running back Danny King of the London Royals with a stat line of 20 rushing attempts for 111 yards, an average run of 5.6 yards, a long of 13 yards, and 1 reception for 2 yards.

Agent Tesla: King's first highlight worthy play came in the first quarter on a first and ten that they converted with their long run of the day of 13 yards. They then went on to convert a fourth and one early in the second quarter with a 7 yard run. Their last big play of the half was a 9 yard run on third and five that gave them a field goal opportunity. Final highlight of the game for them came on second and ten in the third quarter that they converted with a 10 yard run. Now please tell us about who to highlight on the defensive side Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is defensive end Mordecai Morrisey with a stat line of 5 tackles, 1 for loss, 1 sack, and 1 safety.

Agent Tesla: Well I love good defensive line play. Especially when it starts with a tackle on third and two to force a punt in the first quarter! Their next highlight took until the second half, but a 2 yard tackle for loss on second and ten helped lead to a punt as it pushed them just outside of their comfort zone for field goals. They finished off their big day with a fourth quarter first and ten 10 yard sack that resulted in a safety.

Now for game three of week eight please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Portland Pythons at Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. Buccaneers won 24 to 13. Offensive player of the game is running back 3' Jeffrey of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers with a stat line of 20 rushing attempts for 113 yards, an average run of 5.6 yards, a long of 18 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 reception for 2 yards.

Agent Tesla: Jeffrey jump started the offense in the first quarter with a 10 yard run on fourth and two to get the team just outside the red zone. Although their first real long run of the day came on a first and ten in the second quarter that they converted with a nice 17 yard run. They also had their touchdown of the day come on a 2 yard run in the second quarter. Longest run of the day for them came on a third and two that they converted nine times over with an 18 yard run in the fourth quarter. Onto the defensive side please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is free safety Grummy Bear of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers with a stat line of 6 tackles, 1 for loss, 1 pass defended, and 1 interception.

Agent Tesla: Okay I have to say looking at the plays that Bear had a quite unique day, but I love it so I am happy to show the highlights. Their first big play of the game is a fun one as it came on a second and ten at the end of the half where they managed to pick off what would have been a 7 yard pass to add the interception to their stat line for the day. While their second and list big play of the game came at the end of the fourth where they fought for a 5 yard sack that secured the game for Myrtle Beach. Two big defensive plays to end both halves is just fabulous in my book!

Would you please tell us about the last game of week eight now Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Dallas Birddogs at Tijuana Luchadores. Birddogs won 28 to 10. Offensive player of the game is running back Zoe Watts of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 13 rushing attempts for 102 yards, an average run of 7.8 yards, a long of 49 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 reception for 1 yard.

Agent Tesla: Big day for Zoe Watts, but we only have time to cover the three biggest plays so let us get started! First, an 11 yard run on a second and ten on their own 14 yard line in the second quarter to make sure the team did not have their back against the wall. Second, a 12 yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Third, a phenomenal 49 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter that effectively finished off the game. Let us see how the defense did please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Blade McCoy of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 6 tackles, 1 sack, 2 passes defended, and 2 interceptions.

Agent Tesla: I can say terrific coverage right off the bat by McCoy. Now the first highlight of the game for them is a fun one as the ball had just been intercepted the previous play and so on a first and ten in the first quarter Blade McCoy decided to just get that back for their team and even got a 6 yard return. Their next highlight was another first and ten interception, although this one came in the second quarter and was returned for a 9 yard gain. Third time is the charm and their third big play saw McCoy get an 8 yard sack on third and seven in the fourth quarter to force a field goal attempt that ultimately failed.

Time for the first game of week nine please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Norfolk Seawolves at Kansas City Coyotes. Coyotes won 13 to 3. Offensive player of the game is running back Sergio Kitchens of the Kansas City Coyotes with a stat line of 21 rushing attempts for 90 yards, an average run of 4.3 yards, and a long of 16 yards.

Agent Tesla: Kitchens cooked this game being tied for the longest run and the most yardage of any player. Their first two highlight worthy plays were also linked as they converted a third and three in the first quarter with a 9 yard run, and followed it up with a 10 yard run on the following first and ten to convert that as well. However their best play of the game came near the end of the half where they ran it for 16 yards on a first and ten to get the team into position for a field goal attempt before time ran out. Now please tell me about the other side of the ball Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is free safety Sean Reynolds of the Kansas City Coyotes with a stat line of 6 tackles, 1 for loss, 1 pass defended, and 1 interception touchdown.

Agent Tesla: Love to see the defense put up points and especially in a close game like this! Now just as they did on the offense the first two highlights for defense are linked as the first is a tackle at the line of scrimmage on a first and ten in the first quarter, and they followed it up with a tackle after only allowing five yards on second and ten to help force a punt by putting the opponent in a difficult third down position. However the biggest play of the day was their 25 yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter as it was the only touchdown of the day for either team.

Week nine game two please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Minnesota Grey Ducks at London Royals. Royals won 29 to 10. Offensive player of the game is wide receiver Susan Cash Jr of the London Royals with a stat line of 6 receptions for 109 yards, an average reception of 18.2 yards, a long of 46 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Agent Tesla: Cash Jr got the award, but also caught a bad break based on their first highlight of the day. A 46 yard reception on third and six is always going to be highlight worthy, however I have to mention the tackle was made on the one yard line. They would not be kept out of the end zone for the game though as their next big play was a 20 yard reception on a third and seven in the third quarter that went for a touchdown. Would you please take us to defense now Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Busch Light of the London Royals with a stat line of 6 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 safety.

Agent Tesla: First and ten and first play of a drive in the second quarter for the Minnesota Grey Ducks and Busch Light broke it down with a 6 yard sack for a safety. Superb! They also contributed to a three and put in the third with a tackle after just 3 yards gained.

Week nine game three now please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Tijuana Luchadores at Portland Pythons. Pythons won 12 to 10. Offensive player of the game is running back Joseph Petrongolo of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 31 rushing attempts for 130 yards, an average run of 4.2 yards, and a long of 14 yards.

Agent Tesla: Field goals being the deciding factor means it is not a surprise to see a reliable running back get the award. Petrongolo's long play of the day came on a first and twenty in the second quarter that they made a second and manageable with a 14 yard run. One they helped convert into a first down with a 5 yard run on the following play. They also added a 10 yard run on a first and ten in the third quarter that got the team in easy field goal range. Time to talk defense please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is free safety Joel Drake of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 4 tackles, 4 passes defended, and 2 interceptions.

Agent Tesla: Completely covered is what this stat line tells me. Confirmed as their first highlight was a tackle on third down that would lead to a punt in the first quarter. Their first quarter was made better by an interception returned for 8 yards on a first and ten. The play that finished off their big day was another interception this one coming on a second and fifteen in the fourth quarter and being returned for no gain.

Last game of the doubleheader and of week nine please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Myrtle Beach Buccaneers at the Dallas Birddogs. Birddogs won 22 to 10. Offensive player of the game is kicker Kicky Boy (BOT) of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 1 of 1 on extra points and 5 of 6 on field goal attempts.

Agent Tesla: No bots and especially not when they miss a 30 yard field goal attempt. So our living offensive player of the game is instead running back Zoe Watts of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 19 rushing attempts for 94 yards, an average run of 4.9 yards, a long of 14 yards, and 1 touchdown. Between their 5 yard touchdown run in the first quarter and their 14 yard run on first and ten in the third quarter I say this is fair. Although just to give special teams their due Zoe Watts also had a 32 yard kick return. Now tell me about defense please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Bradley Owens of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 6 tackles and 2 sacks.

Agent Tesla: Owens owned the day here. A 10 yard sack on second and five early in the second quarter that put the team in good position. Plus a 5 yard sack on third and three to force a punt later in the quarter. Two terrific plays and that is enough for me to agree with the sim here.

Week Ten

Agent Tesla: Hello and good time appropriate greeting my lovely readers! We are here today to bring you the highlights of the tenth week of Developmental Simulation Football League action! Joining me today as always is Sim Rep who represents the sim. Let us just dive right in and so please take it away Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game London Royals at Norfolk Seawolves. Royals won 31 to 16. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Colby Jack of the London Royals with a stat line of 14 of 16 for 197 yards, 2 touchdowns, 4 rushing attempts for 0 yards, a long of 2 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Agent Tesla: I have to be honest here that this is the first time in all my looking at game logs that I saw a stat line like this. Less than one point shy of a perfect passer rating and one of the weirdest rushing stat lines ever. Colby clearly contributed from their first touchdown of the day a 26 yard touchdown pass on a first and ten in the first quarter. They continued their touchdown contributions with a 2 yard touchdown run on a third and goal in the second quarter. While they finished off their scoring for the day with a 9 yard touchdown pass on second and goal in the third quarter. If you would please tell us about defense now Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Juan Domine of the London Royals with a stat line of 14 tackles, 1 for loss, and 1 pass defended.

Agent Tesla: A tackling machine that is for certain. Domine got their first highlight of the day breaking up a pass on first and ten in the first quarter. Their other highlight of the day came on a second and six in the fourth quarter where they stopped them at the line to gain to help lead to a punt. Also contributed with three tackles on the final drive of the game just to keep the opponents off the board for that final time.

Now take us to game two of week ten please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Dallas Birddogs at Portland Pythons. Birddogs won 20 to 14. Offensive player of the game is running back Bob Murphy of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 14 rushing attempts for 81 yards, an average run of 5.8 yards, a long of 15 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 reception for 6 yards.

Agent Tesla: Murphy's first big play of the game was a 13 yard run on second and five to open the second quarter. They also scored that drive converting a second and goal into a 3 yard touchdown run. Added their second touchdown of the day on their next drive with a 4 yard touchdown run on second and goal. Then their longest play of the day came on a first and fifteen in the fourth quarter that they succeeded on with a 15 yard run. Defense please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Chizome Akaguro (BOT) of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 12 tackles, 1 for loss, 2 passes defended, and 1 interception.

Agent Tesla: We do not celebrate bots here as I have clearly established. Instead we are going to award defensive player of the game to linebacker Omar Wright Jr of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 9 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 pass defended. Omar made their mark in the first quarter with a 7 yard sack on second and five to contribute to a punt. The next drive they added even more with back to back tackles on a second and ten then on third and sixteen to force a punt. Combined with the pass they broke up on a first and fifteen in the fourth quarter and I am more than comfortable handing them the award.

Onto game three of the week please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Kansas City Coyotes at Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. Coyotes won 19 to 7. Offensive player of the game is running back Sergio Kitchens of the Kansas City Coyotes with a stat line of 20 rushing attempts for 88 yards, an average run of 4.4 yards, a long of 13 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Agent Tesla: Kitchens took a while to get cooking, but got their big day started with a 4 yard touchdown run on a third and goal in the second quarter. Kept up their performance with a 3 yard touchdown run on first and goal on their first drive of the second half. Also had their long 13 yard run to convert a first and ten in the fourth quarter that is highlight worthy. Next is defense please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Jeremiah Zelos of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers with a stat line of 14 tackles and 2 for loss.

Agent Tesla: A lot of tackles means a lot of chances at highlight reel worthy plays. Zelos' first comes on a third and three where they tackled the runner short of the line to gain to force a punt in the second quarter. Added another comparable tackle that shows good coverage by allowing just a 4 yard reception on a third and five that would also lead to a punt in the third quarter. Added two more tackles on the last drive of the game on first and ten then on second and nine that both allowed virtually no gain to lead to a field goal.

Finally the fourth game of the week please Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Game Minnesota Grey Ducks at Tijuana Luchadores. Luchadores won 17 to 14. Offensive player of the game is running back Crowbar Theeks of the Tijuana Luchadores with a stat line of 26 rushing attempts for 124 yards, an average run of 4.8 yards, a long of 22 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 reception for 4 yards.

Agent Tesla: Crowbar pried it open really early with their longest run of the day going to the house for a 22 yard touchdown run on a first and ten for their opening drive of the game. Added another long first down run on the first drive of the second quarter where they ran it for 18 yards. They moved their magic to a third and five for their third highlight of the day where they converted with a 19 yard run. Not out of first down magic yet though as the opening drive of the third quarter saw them run for 16 yards. Please tell us about defense now Sim Rep!

Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is cornerback Mith Randir (GM) of the Tijuana Luchadores with a stat line of 6 tackles, 3 passes defended, and 2 interceptions.

Agent Tesla: Congratulations on that Mithrandir, but no rewards for bots. Instead the award for defensive player of the game goes to linebacker Adam Schell of the Tijuana Luchadores with a stat line of 9 tackles and 1 sack. Schell's 8 yard sack on first and ten to close out the first quarter really helped set the tone for the game. Also had a tackle close to the line of scrimmage on a first and ten that helped lead to a long missed field goal attempt by the opposition.
