*Breaking Down the Performance of DSFL Kickers (Preseason) - xenosthelegend - 08-13-2020

This will be a breakdown of each kicker's performance in the DSFL during the preseason.

Dallas Birddogs:
Kicky Man
Week 1: 3/3 Extra points, 2/3 Field goals (1/2 20-29 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)
Week 2: 2/2 Extra points, 0/1 Field goals (0/1 50+ yards)
Week 3: 2/3 Extra points, 1/1 Field goals (1/1 30-39 yards)
Week 4: 1/1 Extra points, 1/2 Field goals (1/2 40-49 yards)
Total: 8/9 Extra points, 4/7 Field goals (1/2 20-29 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards, 2/3 40-49 yards 0/1 50+ yards)

Man had a slow start in week 1 due to his team not putting him in a position to kick field goals or extra points in the first quarter. Dallas began to mount a drive towards the end of the first quarter that ended in a touchdown early in the second quarter, Man got the extra point. After a goal line stand with less than 4 minutes left in the half by Minnesota, Man missed a 29 yard field goal, this would not be the last time Man attempted a kick this half as Dallas recovered a fumble with 1:24 seconds left on the clock. Just 41 seconds later Man drilled a 41 yard field goal through the uprights for 3 points. Early in the third quarter Man was successful in kicking a 20 yard field goal, the rest of the game Man kicked successful field goals.
In week 2 Dallas had some trouble getting into the endzone, as Man's first kick was once again not until the second quarter, this time it came with 10:35 seconds left on the clock. 18 seconds before halftime Man attempted a 56 yard field goal, the kick was no good. Man would not get another attempt to score points until 6:53 left in the fourth quarter, it was an extra point.
Week 3 had a much faster start for Dallas as they scored a touchdown halfway through the first quarter, Man made the extra point. At the end of the first quarter with 0:00 left on the clock Man got another chance to kick an extra point, he got it bringing him to 7/7 on extra points during the preseason. Dallas did not score again until late in the third quarter, a 39 yard field goal by Man gave Dallas another three points and brought them up to 17 points on the game. Towards the end of the fourth quarter Dallas scored another touchdown, and Man who was perfect on extra points up to this point missed the extra point.
In week 4 Dallas' first points came from a 41 yard field goal from Man early in the second quarter. Man got another chance to kick late in the third quarter for an extra point, which he made. With 6:32 left in the fourth quarter Man attempted a 48 yard field goal, Man missed the kick. That was Man's last kick of the preseason.

Myrtle Beach Buccaneers:
Leo Bloomfield
Week 1: 3/3 Extra points, 4/4 Field goals (2/2 20-29 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)
Week 2: 5/5 Extra points, 1/1 Field goals (1/1 <20 yards)
Week 3: 2/2 Extra points, 0/1 Field goals (0/1 30-39 yards)

In week 1 Bloomfield got off to great start kicking with 7 total kicks, he didn't miss a single one. Halfway through the first quarter Bloomfield got his first points of the day with an extra point. Early in the second quarter Bloomfield got to show off his leg with a 48 yard field goal, 6 minutes later he knocked a 34 yard field goal through the uprights. With 20 seconds left in the second quarter Bloomfield made a 26 yard field goal. Four minutes into the third quarter Bloomfield got to kick an extra point, five minutes later he got to kick another extra point. One minute into the fourth quarter Bloomfield made his final kick of the day, a 25 yard field goal.
In week 2 Bloomfield got another early start as five minutes into the game he made an extra point, another five minutes later he got another extra point. After the first quarter Bloomfield had to wait until early in the fourth quarter to get another chance to score points, an 18 yard field goal which was good. Myrtle Beach had an offensive explosion late into the game, at 2:58 seconds Bloomfield kicked an extra point, then with 53 seconds left in the game Bloomfield gets another extra point, with 11 seconds left in the game Bloomfield made one final extra point. Once again Bloomfield was perfect kicking.
Week 3 had Bloomfield wait until late in the first quarter to kick his first extra point, Bloomfield would have to wait a long time to have another chance at scoring points. Five minutes into the third quarter and Bloomfield finally had another chance to score points, this time a 35 yard field goal. Bloomfield missed the kick. His first missed kick of the preseason. Bloomfield then had to wait until late in the fourth quarter to kick another extra point.
In week 4 Bloomfield got off to a rough start missing his first two field goals, the first from 43 yards, the second from 41 yards. Then halfway through the third quarter Bloomfield drilled a 38 yard field goal. With 47 seconds left in the game Bloomfield had one final chance to score points, an extra point, he hadn't missed one the entire preseason. The kick went through the uprights, and Bloomfield remained perfect on extra points.

Tijuana Luchadores
Jack Burton
Week 1: 1/1 Extra points, 2/3 Field goals (2/3 40-49 yards)
Week 2: 2/2 Extra points, 3/4 Field goals (1/1 <20 yards, 2/3 20-29 yards)
Week 3: 3/3 Extra points, 2/2 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)

Week 1 took a long time for Burton to have an opportunity to score points, with just over two minutes left in the third quarter Burton went onto the field to attempt a 43 yard field goal. The kick was good and the Luchadores scored for the first time during the preseason. Early in the fourth quarter Tijuana scored a touchdown and Burton kicked an extra point. Around four minutes later Burton drilled a 47 yard field goal. With 17 seconds left in the game Burton had one final chance to score points, a 40 yard field goal, Burton missed the kick.
In week 2 Burton got off to a much faster start Tijuana scored a touchdown just over four minutes into the game, he made the extra point. Late in the first quarter Burton went onto the field once again to kick a 21 yard field goal. Burton would have to wait until the third quarter to try to get points again as he kicked an extra point early in the third quarter. With six minutes left in the third quarter Burton kicked an 18 yard field goal. Early in the fourth quarter Burton went out onto the field for a 22 yard field goal, he missed the kick. Burton would get another chance at a field goal with 48 seconds left on the clock, a 24 yard field goal, this time Burton did not miss the last chance for points.
Six minutes into the second quarter of week 3 and Burton kicks for the first time, an extra point. With 2:16 left in the second quarter Burton gets an extra point. Halfway through the third quarter Burton gets another extra point. Towards the end of the third quarter Tijuana once again called on Burton to kick a long field goal, this time from 44 yards. Burton knocked the ball through the uprights to score three points. Four minutes into the fourth quarter Burton kicked a 24 yard field goal.
Week 4 had Burton get off to a lightning start as he drilled a 46 yard field goal less than two minutes into the game. At the end of the first quarter Burton got an extra point, and early in the second quarter he got an extra point. Tijuana would not attempt a field goal or get a touchdown for the rest of the game. Burton finished the preseason without missing an extra point.

Norfolk Seawolves:
Melvin Murder-Moose
Week 1: 1/2 Extra points, 1/1 Field goals (1/1 30-39 yards)
Week 2: 2/2 Extra points, 0/0 Field goals
Week 3: 1/1 Extra points, 1/2 Field goals (1/2 40-49 yards)

Things did not start off well for Murder-Moose as they missed their first kick of the preseason, an extra point a bit over halfway through the first quarter. In the third quarter Murder-Moose got a chance to redeem themself, this opportunity would not go to waste as the moose made the extra point. Halfway through the third quarter Murder-Moose got to attempt their first field goal of the preseason, a 30 yard attempt. The ball went right down the middle for three points.
Murder-Moose had to wait a very long time in week 2 to get a chance to score points. Murder-Moose waited until the end of the third quarter to kick an extra point. Murder-Moose would have to wait a while again to try scoring points. Towards the end of the fourth quarter Murder-Moose attempted, and scored an extra point.
In week 3 Murder-Moose had to wait until the second quarter to attempt a kick, this was a long one, a 43 yard field goal attempt. The kick was in the air, it had the distance, but was slightly off and missed by four inches. Late in the second quarter Murder-Moose scored an extra point. In the third quarter Murder-Moose had a chance at redemption, another 43 yard field goal, and this time the result was different. Murder-Moose drilled the 43 yard attempt right down the middle.
In week 4 Murder-Moose did not have to wait as they did in the last two weeks to attempt a kick. With four minutes left in the first quarter Murder-Moose scored an extra point. Less than two minutes into the second quarter Murder-Moose attempted a 30 yard field goal. Murder-Moose knocked the ball through the uprights to score three points. Later in the second quarter, with 26 seconds left in the half, Murder-Moose made another field goal, this time from 41 yards. Five minutes into the third quarter and Murder-Moose got an extra point. At the start of the fourth quarter Murder-Moose attempted their last kick of the preseason, a 43 yard field goal. The kick was good.

Kansas City Coyotes
Juke Thomason
Week 1: 3/3 Extra points, 0/0 Field goals
Week 2: 0/0 Extra points, 1/1 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards)
Week 3: 2/2 Extra points, 3/3 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)

In week 1 Thomason went to kick an extra point after Kansas City scored a touchdown late in the first quarter. Thomason made the kick. After Thomason's first kick of the preseason he would have to wait until halfway through the fourth quarter to kick again. Thomason got another extra point, and with just over two minutes remaining, Thomason got another extra point.
In week 2 Kansas City was unable to score much, their only points came from a single field goal with four minutes left in the second quarter. The field goal was 26 yards, kicked by Thomason.
Week 3 was the week Thomason finally got to kick an extra point and a field goal in the same game. Two thirds through the first quarter and Thomason was able to kick an extra point. Early in the second quarter Thomason drilled a 41 yard field goal. Thomason finally kicked a field goal and extra point in the same game. Halfway through the 3rd quarter Thomason had another opportunity to score points, a 26 yard field goal attempt, Thomason would not miss as it was right down the middle. Early in the fourth quarter Thomason had yet another kick, an extra point which went through the uprights. Halfway through the fourth quarter Thomason had his final chance to score points this game, a 33 yard field goal, the kick was good.
Week 4 late in the first quarter Kansas City scored a touchdown, Thomason made the extra point. Halfway through the second quarter Thomason attempted a 43 yard field goal, 4/4 on field goals to this point, after the kick he was 5/5. With 56 seconds left Thomason attempted a 55 yard field goal. Thomason launched the ball, it was in the air for 5 seconds, it had the distance, and it was through the uprights. Thomason ended his preseason having not missed a single kick.

Minnesota Grey Ducks:
Bill Brasky
Week 1: 3/3 Extra points, 1/1 Field goals (1/1 40-49 yards)
Week 2: 2/4 Extra points, 2/3 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards, 0/1 40-49 yards)
Week 3: 0/0 Extra points, 3/3 Field goals (1/1 >20 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)
Week 4: 1/1 Extra points, 0/0 Field goals

In week 1 Brasky saw some action late in the first quarter, Minnesota just finished a five minute drive downfield for a touchdown and now Brasky needed to make the extra point. Brasky made the kick, and got one point for Minnesota. In the second quarter, after a four minute drive Brasky had another opportunity to kick an extra point, he did not miss, and got another point. Brasky would have to wait until the fourth quarter to kick again, this time a 42 yard field goal attempt. Brasky's kick was right down the middle as the ball sailed through the uprights for three points. Later in the fourth quarter Brasky kicked another extra point.
In week 2 Brasky got off to a much faster start as three minutes into the game he got an extra point. Late in the first quarter Brasky was called on by Minnesota to kick a 38 yard field goal, the kick was good. Early in the second quarter Minnesota called on Brasky to kick a longer field goal, 45 yards. The ball had the distance, but was wide left. Brasky's kicking problems continued as halfway through the second quarter he missed an extra point. Early in the third quarter Brasky still was unable to regain his accuracy as he missed another extra point. Finally halfway through the third quarter Brasky managed to successfully make an extra point. After the extra point Brasky seemed to regain his accuracy as he made a 23 yard field goal as his last kick of the day.
In week 3 Minnesota seemed to be getting into a habit of making Brasky kick longer field goals as he lined up for a 45 yard field goal. Wanting to prove that he could make the kick as he missed his last 45 yard attempt, he proved that he was able to make it as the ball went through the uprights for three points. Early in the second quarter Brasky attempted a 36 yard field goal which he drilled for another three points. Then late in the second quarter Brasky attempted a 19 yard chip shot field goal, Brasky remained perfect on the day as he made the field goal. Minnesota would not attempt another kick or get a touchdown that game. Brasky got all of his team's points.
Week 4 had Brasky kick an extra point halfway through the first quarter as his first kick of the game. Brasky would not get another opportunity to score for the rest of the preseason.

Portland Pythons
Pseudo QB
Week 1: 5/5 Extra points, 0/0 Field goals
Week 2: 0/1 Extra points, 1/3 Field goals (1/3 40-49 yards)
Week 3: 6/6 Extra points, 0/0 Field goals
Week 4: 1/1 Extra points, 2/2 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards)
Total: 12/13 Extra points, 3/5 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards, 1/3 40-49 yards)

Portland had a quiet start to week 1, not scoring at all until four minutes left in the second quarter. In that time Portland had an offensive explosion supported by turnovers from their defense. QB kicked an extra point with four minutes left in the second quarter, an extra point with 1:56 left in the second quarter, and another extra point with 28 seconds left in the second quarter. Portland's offense slowed down after that, scoring a touchdown late in the third quarter, QB kicked the extra point. After an 82 yard kick return all QB had to do was wait until Portland scored another touchdown to kick his fifth extra point of the day.
After not missing a kick in week 1 QB wanted to keep his perfect kicking streak, this would not last as he missed his first kick of the day, a 43 yard field goal attempt. QBs kicking woes continued as he missed a 40 yard field goal later in the second quarter. In the third quarter QB had a chance to kick an extra point, this was again missed making him 0/3 on the day to this point. Halfway through the fourth quarter QB attempted his longest kick of the game, a 45 yard field goal attempt. This time QB would not miss as it was right down the middle, QB was 1/4 on the day, but had something to carry into next week.
Just five minutes into week 3 and QB was called on by Portland to kick an extra point, having missed three of his last four kicks, QB wanted to right the wrong he made last week. QB was successful in kicking the extra point. With just 30 seconds left in the first quarter Portland scored another touchdown, QB was successful in kicking the extra point again. Late in the second quarter Portland's offense started firing on all cylinders as they scored two touchdowns with four minutes between them, both extra points were good. Late in the third quarter QB had another chance to kick an extra point, the kick was good once again. With 25 seconds left in the game QB had his sixth chance of the day to kick an extra point. He did not miss bringing him to 6/6 for kicks.
In week 4 QB waited until halfway through the first quarter to have a chance at scoring, this time a 24 yard field goal. QB knocked the ball through the uprights for three points. Late in the second quarter Portland scored a touchdown, QB who did not miss an extra point last week remained automatic in kicking them as it went right down the middle. Halfway through the fourth quarter QB had his last kick of the preseason, a 34 yard field goal. The kick was good.

London Royals
Jake Fencik

In week 1 Fencik waited until late in the first quarter for London to score a touchdown, Fencik made the extra point. Six minutes into the second quarter London called on Fencik to attempt a 38 yard field goal, Fencik's kick was right down the middle for three points. Halfway through the third quarter Fencik was called on again to attempt another field goal, this time 21 yards, Fencik's kick was good. Early in the fourth quarter Fencik drilled a 26 yard field goal, and halfway through the fourth quarter Fencik made a 20 yard field goal.
Week 2 started slow for Fencik as he waited until there was 24 seconds left in the second quarter to kick a 27 yard field goal. Fencik knocked the ball through the uprights for three points. Fencik then waited until late in the fourth quarter to kick again, this time an extra point. Fencik remained perfect on kicks in the preseason.
Fencik got off to a much faster start in week 3, as two minutes into the game he drilled a 46 yard field goal. Halfway through the first quarter London scored a touchdown, and Fencik's kick was good. With no time left in the first quarter London scored another touchdown, however this time Fencik missed the kick, his first missed kick of the preseason. Late in the second quarter Fencik attempted a 45 yard field goal, the kick was good. With 2 seconds left in the third quarter Fencik attempted his last kick of the day, a 41 yard field goal. The ball went right down the middle, Fencik was no longer perfect on extra points, but he remained perfect on field goals.
In week 4 London scored a touchdown early in the first quarter, Fencik scored the extra point. Late in the first quarter London scored another touchdown, Fencik did not miss as he went 2/2 on field goals up to this point. Early in the second quarter London scored another touchdown, Fencik made the extra point. Late in the second quarter London scored a fourth touchdown, Fencik missed the extra point. Late in the third quarter London scored a fifth touchdown, this time Fencik made the extra point. Late in the fourth quarter Fencik was called on to made a field goal for the first time of the game, it would also be his last kick of the preseason, a 37 yard field goal attempt. Fencik was 8/8 on field goals up to this point in the preseason, Fencik's kick was right down the middle, and he remained perfect on field goals for the preseason.

Why did I do this? Because kickers are people too and deserve some time to be talked about.
