Do not claim this TPE until it has been graded and posted to the S24 claim thread.

Written and graphic responses must be posted solely in this thread and not for additional media credit.
Also, if you try to build your word count by being super repetitive and rambling on, you will not get full credit.

We’ve had a number of incidences involving PT plagiarism. If you are caught stealing someone else’s work, you will be punished as HO sees fit, including the potential loss of TPE or money. Do your own work please.

This task is due next Sunday, September 6th, at 11:59 EDT. Have fun and get writing!

Written Option: Reflect on our player’s career, from their first football game to their current career in the ISFL or DSFL, and expound upon one particular story where your player faced their “welcome to the league” moment. How did the change in competition between college and the league, or between the DSFL and ISFL, initially challenge your player? Did they suffer a drop in stats or an ugly debut game? How did they rebound from it?

Graphic Option: Communicate visually why this one moment was so challenging to your player and why it was important.

Videl Came from a poor neighborhood in Tokyo, Japan, Where resources are limited, and it’s always a fight for survival. A Tragic earthquake struck the city leaving it in ruins and despair. Videl had no choice but to get a visa and get to America to find out about her passion in sports. She went to the University of Florida, to discover this sport everyone  loves, learned about it and was good enough to get into the roster, as a potential future star in the making, looking to reach the international Simulation Football league. However, controversy followed shortly afterwards, as many teams did not scout her due to the rumors that she would not fit in an international Simulation Football league locker room. She was also prone to many severe injuries, Which caused her to be not taking until picked number 36, by the Austin Copperheads. She obviously had a rough rookie season, fighting her way up the depth chart, proving everyone, including her doubters wrong, even though, she had one of the worst debut games in league history, having a measly 32 yards and only 3 catches that whole game. But this will not stop her, she will only get better from this.

Rich Triplet was a D2 stud at Minnesota State, having a star-studded career at the smaller school Rich was ready to make a huge impact in the DSFL. Going in the second round was a surprise for Rich due to his small school and not much hype associated with him pre-draft. However, he made sure the Tijuana Luchadores did not regret their pick. In their first preseason game against the Norfolk Seawolves Rich had snagged an interception and brought the ball back for 50 yards and for six. It looked to be a big game for Rich and made him look like a surefire pick. Despite a solid preseason and a good opening to the season against Dallas and Myrtle Beach, Rich’s welcome to the DSFL moment happened against Kansas City, matching up against the second overall pick Joshua Campbell. Rich got burned for over one hundred receiving yards against Campbell and a pair of touchdown grabs. The team played their heart our and brought the game to overtime but a late pick from quarterback Mike Boss JR in OT lead to a hard loss. Rich has put a lot of the blame on himself but used it as motivation to get better. Since this moment Rich has gotten his first regular season interception and the Tijuana defense is one of the best in the league during crunch times. Rich will forever remember that first loss in the professional league as the moment he wasn’t the best player on the field anymore, as he had been since high school but just another piece on defense trying to work as a unit.

Dawkins entered the University of Chicago Maroons Football Program on the back of an open tryout. Expectations of an immediate impact on defense weren't there given that the focus for his first season was on transitioning to cornerback having really only ever played as a wideout and running back. Dawkins would earn his keep on special teams both as a returner and gunner as snaps on defense would be limited as he looked to develop his understanding of the position and role that he was expected to fill for his sophomore season. While this was the plan, Dawkins take snaps at corner earlier than expected before moving to safety as injuries plagued the Maroon's secondary.

After declaring for the Season 21 DSFL Draft, Dawkins was selected by Portland and was slated to start at safety for the Pythons from day 1. Some reservations were held given that Dawkins played in Divison III but that wasn't the case as he transitioned well into the DSFL. Having been selected by Honolulu in the Season 22 NSFL Draft, Dawkins would spend an additional season in the DSFL to develop further. Given the ease he transitioned from Division III to the DSFL and with added year of development in hand, the transition to the NSFL wasn't expected to be as rough, but Dawkins would have his own  "welcome to the league" moment in his debut for the Hahalua. Starting at free safety on debut, Dawkins would fail to record a single defensive statistic. Appearing somewhat lost and a step behind, it was certainly a cause for concern. His performance only salvaged by his performance on special teams as a kick returner. Having avoided the growing pains thus far, his debut for the Hahalua was certainly a wake up call and would be the catalyst for Dawkins to put in the work to solidify himself as a member of the Honolulu secondary in additional to his roles on special teams. His rookie season would culminate in him earning a spot in the ASFC Pro Bowl team after putting together a solid campaign as a rookie, bouncing back after the underwhelming debut.

When Eric Richards had his first college  football game with the Kentucky Wildcats, he had a massive welcome to the league moment when he had a really ugly game in terms of overall stats. He only had 3 tackles and gave up a touchdown in the 4th quarter to Western Kentucky after missing a tackle. He is lucky that the game was already over with Kentucky leading by 28. But it was ugly for himself and he knew he could do a lot better.. He was extremely disappointed in himself but was given a pep talk by head coach Mark Stoops that included the phrase "remember, there is always room for improvement as long as you work hard. Never stop grinding kid or you will never improve. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"

This inspired Eric to work harder then ever before. In the next game against Vanderbilt he ened up with 9 tackles and a forced fumble as the team wins 27-10. In the end this him eventually lead the team in tackles in his sophomore season and to eventually win multiple All-American nods. He constantly thinks about this in practice and on the field as it helps him a lot especially when he made it to the league.

Coming from a successful college career as the leading receiver on the team at a school with a high powered offense, it was quite a shock in week 1 for Mark Walker. After playing in the prospect bowl and doing really well against other rookies, it may have led him to think he would make a bigger impact from day 1. Week one of his rookie season, stat line of 1 reception for 9 yards. Not exactly ground breaking for a rookie. Now, in all honesty, with two star receivers ahead of him on the depth chart and two star running backs in the backfield there should have been lower expectations. But, being a competitor and wanting to win and improve definitely made him get his hopes up a little to high. Luckily it motivated him to get in the gym and work harder than ever to be able to contribute on the field. It takes time to get caught up to these players with even a year of extra playing time and access to these facilities.

But that hard work has helped the team a couple of times this season. After week seven, Mark Walker has the fifth most receiving yards out of all rookies, with the highest average yards per catch at 12.7 yards per. He has added two touchdowns and has a long of 29 yards, also the longest by a rookie. He is actually 18th in receiving yards out of all receivers in the DSFL with two of his team mates ahead of him with them being in second and seventh in yards each. He is on pace to finish the season in the range of the other rookies, if he can manage a game or two with a few extra receptions he could finish in the lead of a couple categories out of the rookies.
