Hey everyone, changes are being made to GFX. We have found that by making the system fully automatic, it becomes too easy to abuse. If you need any proof of this, go and check out some of the work that has been submitted within the past few weeks.
Starting 7/24 at 5:30 EST, GFX graders will begin to withhold payment on GFX that are deemed low quality. No more paint sigs, names over an NFL player, recolored players with a flame decal, or any of that type of work will receive payment. This will all be at the graders discretion. This will make it more fair to those of you who actually try and make good GFX.
As well as what I have just stated previously, the base pay for GFX will be lowered to $450,000. Before you all try and kill me for this, there will be a $300,000 bonus for extremely high quality work and a $200,000 bonus for work that demonstrates extremely high effort and creativity. These bonuses will be given out at the graders discretion. If you feel that your work is being unfairly graded, let the graders know via PM and we will find a solution.
We are also working on alternate ways to make money such as GFX contests, requested GFX, and head to head GFX battles so that GFX becomes more interactive and rewarding to those who submit high quality work.

Meh, personally I don't think any move that makes activity harder is good for a sim league. I get it, some people went too far, but couldn't you just give people warnings and then dock them pay as originally laid out in the rulebook? Seems like jumping the gun. Dumb idea 0/10.

Are there safeguards in place to ensure that graders from one team aren't purposely letting their teammates by with crappy work? Or deeming opponents graphics unworthy?
Or is it just the Wild West and completely up to the graders?

This idea has been in the works for a while now. I also don't see how this makes it harder to be active in the league unless one's "activity" consisted of submitting low quality paint sigs every week. The old warning system still allowed people to claim for the week they were warned, this new system doesn't. The old system allowed people to continue to submit low quality work while only receiving small fines, this system doesn't. People who try their best will have nothing to worry about, and if somebody feels as though their work was graded unfairly, I encourage them to contact a grader.

If you see this becoming an issue, let me know. I trust that the graders will take an objective stance towards grading work, despite team affiliation. I will however keep an eye out for this to make sure that it doesn't become an issue.

Glad this is in place now honestly, I didn't want to speak out too much about poor quality/lack of effort because it's hard not to offend someone when doing so. But generally it's pretty obvious when someone just types on top of a saved player picture.

All of these took 45 minutes to over an hour even it doesn't look like it. The Lawrence Taylor one for example took especially long even if it isn't the greatest work.
Just need to know if I should bounce of out graphics submissions moving forward :lol:.
