So, here I am, sitting in my locker, getting ready to play the final game of my rookie season in the DSFL for The London Royals. It's been a great ride and I can't believe I got to play with such an amazing group of guys. It sucks to think most of us won't be playing together next season, as some will most likely be getting called up to the ISFL for their rookie seasons there. Either way, I wanted to say,
Thank You.
Thank you to the best teammates I've ever had, Thank you to our GM for putting together such a great crew and killing it at the draft. And Thank You to our fans who kept cheering us on all season. But after tonight, everything changes. We aren't the same group of fresh faced rookies that were brought in to replace a gutted Royals core, we've been the through the grinder and we've all learned a lot.
After tonight, everything resets to Zero. It doesn't matter how many wins we've had or how many times we may have beaten the team we're facing in the playoffs. This is war. We're fighting to prove how good we really are. We're fighting to survive, because if we don't win, there is no tomorrow. We're going to go to battle one night at a time, and we're going to fight like our very lives depended on it, because in a way, they do. Some of us will be playing our last games as a Royal, and I don't know about everyone else here, but I'm going down swinging. I don't care if I break every bone in body (apparently the team doctor has told me I should care, because that means there is a good chance my football career is over), I won't stop until we are victorious!
ROYALS, LET'S FINISH THIS FIGHT!
