*Daquan Madison Backstory - kingjwm57 - 11-11-2020

Daquan’s career in football so far has been nothing short of odd. Everything that has led up to him being the star he was in college was out of the ordinary. He didn’t even think of football till highschool, and even then he wasn’t exactly in love with the sport. The varsity football coach had begged for Daquan to join the team his entire highschool career, and the coach believed that Daquan was the key to the coveted state championship trophy, but Daquan had two other trophies in mind: the state powerlifting championship and the state wrestling championship. Daquan’s sheer strength and willpower made him a force to be reckoned with during his highschool wrestling career, and he hoped it would land him a top scholarship for college. Daquan viewed powerlifting as a side-hustle of sorts, but regardless of his motives for participating in the sport, he was a natural talent; breaking multiple school and state records before his junior year.
But before Daquan’s junior year, the coach was finally able to complete his goal of recruiting Daquan to the team. During summer practice Daquan showed off his incredible athleticism, which was made even more impressive by his huge 6’6” 325 pound frame. By the end of the summer, he had lost 50 pounds of fat and put on 10 pounds of pure muscle. Daquan was an athletic freak before, but now more than ever would he strike fear into the eyes of opponents. In the first game of the season he had broken school records for sacks, tackles, TFLs, and forced fumbles in a single game. The future looked bright for Daquan, and he felt as if he could really make an impact for the team and help win the state championship for coach. He did. He won state POTY twice in a row (and won 2 championships in a row) before committing to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, to both wrestle and play football.
After a tough, injury filled freshman season at UNC, Daquan truly broke out in his sophomore season, winning All-ACC second team honors. His junior year he won ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and won the ACC wrestling championship. Finally, in Daquan’s senior year, he won the Bednarik, ACC Player of The Year, as well as finishing 5th in the Heisman race. Now, Daquan will see if he has what it takes to perform at the highest level.
