- People who don't win get mad about awards
- People who don't get nominated get mad about awards
- People who do win get mad about how many votes they got
- Everyone gets mad at awards committee
- Awards committee gets mad at itself
- HO desperately doesn't want to vote on awards but GMs force them to anyways
- All voters don't really take the time to give the votes due diligence and full context
- There isn't enough time for them to do this anyways
- But if they were to have enough time, the offseason would be over 3 weeks long and that would be worse
- The awards stream typically only gets half the viewers of the ISFL draft
- It often requires a 36 hour turnaround to get all the graphics done, taking away time from the (aforementioned better viewed) ISFL Draft
LITERALLY EVERYONE GETS MAD OVER AWARDS NO MATTER WHO WINS
awards are supposed to be a fun celebration of players at the end of the season. instead it is a salt mine that appears at the end of every season. is this what we really want? it's clear you guys don't like awards. let's just get rid of them

I really enjoy everything about awards! I totally get how frustrating it must be for all involved when the vocal minority voices their displeasure, but I'm hoping there are many like me that really appreciate all the work that goes into it.
It really adds to the experience and I would be gutted if it disappears.

Infi, idk about the others but I feel like from the one GM I've asked (perfect polling data, don't you think?) they're not too crazy about awards voting either.

As a guy who won two awards that he has always felt was supposed to go to the other guy but is too proud at the achievement to say it publicly I agree.
Or maybe I don't? Idk the salt mine that erupts seems like good offseason drama that's predictable, reliable, and is something that fills that gap of offseason interest that we don't get. I say schedule it for the first week after the Ultimus and treat it as the end of the season. Then leave the season in the past and go full tilt to the prospect bowl and the draft.
