In week 1 Chicago's first drive had them in great field position as they got a turnover on downs in Baltimore territory. Chicago picked up a first down, but was unable to keep the drive alive as their quarterback was sacked. Attempting to score their first points of the season was their kicker, Sam Sidekick. Sidekick lined up for a 39 yard field goal attempt, his kick was right down the middle, giving Chicago three points, and their first points of the season. Later in the first quarter Sidekick had another chance to score points, this time a 40 yard field goal attempt, his kick was once again good. Once again in the first quarter Sidekick had another field goal attempt, this time from 42 yards out. Sidekick's kick was good for the third time this game, scoring a total of nine points in the first quarter. With less than 2 minutes in the second quarter, Chicago managed to score a touchdown, Sidekick lined up for the extra point. Remaining perfect Sidekick drilled the ball through the uprights to score another point for Chicago, bringing his first half total up to 10. 1/3 through the third quarter Chicago scored another touchdown, Sidekick's second extra point attempt, and final kick of the game was good.
In week 2 Chicago was unable to score until late in the first quarter. A 3 minute drive set up by a good kick return. Julio Tirtawidjaja punched the ball in from 5 yards out to give Chicago their first points of the game. Sidekick lined up for the extra point attempt. His kick was right down the middle, scoring another point for Chicago. It would take Chicago quite some time to score again, it wasn't until the third quarter when they found themselves in position to score points for the second time this game. Sidekick walked onto the field for a 31 yard field goal attempt. Sidekick drilled the ball through the uprights, scoring another three points for Chicago. Early in the fourth quarter, Chicago scored another touchdown. Sidekick attempted the extra point, and secured another point for Chicago. Late in the fourth quarter, to put the game out of reach, Sidekick attempted a 42 yard field goal. His kick was good.
In week 3 Chicago was not able to do much on offense in the first quarter. Their first points of the game came off of a pick six late in the first quarter. Sidekick attempted the extra point, his kick was good. Halfway through the second quarter, Chicago seemed to figure out how to move the ball on offense as they scored a touchdown. Sidekick's extra point attempt was successful. With time running out in the second quarter, Sidekick lined up for a 45 yard field goal attempt. Sidekick's kick had the distance, and it went through the uprights, scoring three points for Chicago before the first half ended. In the third quarter, Chicago scored another touchdown, Sidekick scored the extra point. As time expired in the fourth quarter, Chicago scored a touchdown to tie the game. Sidekick needed the extra point to win it. Sidekick walked onto the field, lined up for it. The ball was snapped. The holder got it down in time. Sidekick kicked the ball through the uprights, scoring one point, winning the game for Chicago.
Chicago got off to a much faster start on offense in week 4, as they scored in under 7 minutes. Sidekick attempted the extra point, his kick was good. Late in the second quarter, Chicago scored another touchdown. Sidekick lined up for the extra point, and was once again successful in kicking it through the uprights. Early in the fourth quarter, Sidekick attempted a 36 yard field goal. His kick was right down the middle, scoring another three points for Chicago. Halfway through the fourth quarter Chicago scored another touchdown, Sidekick successfully kicked an extra point for the third time this game.
Week 5 was a quiet game for Chicago as they scored all of their points in the first quarter. The first points came off of a 43 yard field goal attempt by Sidekick early in the first quarter. After that they scored a touchdown late in the first quarter. Sidekick's extra point attempt was successful.
Week 6 was another quiet game for Chicago's offense, they managed to score only 10 points again. It took Chicago until the fourth quarter to have a chance to score points. Sidekick walked onto the field to attempt a 26 yard field goal. His kick was right down the middle, preventing the shutout, and scoring three points for Chicago. Late in the fourth quarter Chicago's offense finally did something as they scored a touchdown. Sidekick successfully kicked the ball through the uprights scoring another point for Chicago, making the final score less lopsided.
In week 7 Chicago finally fixed their problems on offense by scoring points consistently. Halfway through the first quarter, Chicago scored a touchdown off of a 24 yard pass. Sidekick attempted the extra point, and his kick was good. Halfway through the third quarter Chicago scored another touchdown. Sidekick scored another extra point. Late in the third quarter Chicago scored their third touchdown of the game, Sidekick lined up for the extra point, and his kick was once again good. To put the game out of reach, early in the fourth quarter Sidekick attempted a 42 yard field goal. His kick was good for the fourth time today as he scored another three points for Chicago.
Week 8 was a shootout featuring high powered offenses, and optional defenses. Early in the first quarter both teams had scored a touchdown. Sidekick scored an extra point. Halfway through the first quarter Chicago scored another touchdown, Sidekick attempted the extra point, and his kick was good. Chicago scored a third touchdown in the first quarter, Sidekick lined up for the extra point attempt, and his kick was right down the middle, scoring another point for Chicago. Halfway through the second quarter Chicago scored their fourth touchdown of the game, Sidekick was once again successful kicking the extra point as he was now 4/4 on the game. Halfway through the third quarter Chicago scored their fifth touchdown of the game. Sidekick's kick was good for the fifth time. Late in the third quarter Chicago somehow managed to not score a touchdown on a drive, and instead kicked a field goal. Sidekick lined up for a 35 yard attempt. His kick was good. Halfway through the fourth quarter Sidekick lined up for another field goal attempt, this time from 17 yards out. His kick was good for the seventh time this game. As time expired Chicago scored another touchdown. As history tends to do, it repeated itself as Sidekick's eighth kick of the game was good.
Chicago's offense was not nearly as good as it was in week 8, but in week 9 it was still respectable. Late in the first quarter a Chicago drive stalled out within the Orange County 5 yard line. Sidekick walked onto the field to attempt his first kick of the game, a 19 yard field goal attempt. His kick was right down the middle, scoring Chicago's first points of the game. Early in the second quarter Chicago scored a touchdown, Sidekick's extra point attempt was good. Halfway through the third quarter Chicago scored another touchdown, Sidekick's extra point attempt was once again good. Early in the fourth quarter Chicago scored their third touchdown of the game. Sidekick's third extra point attempt of the game was good. Late in the fourth quarter Sidekick attempted a 32 yard field goal attempt, his kick was good. That would be his final kick of the game, Chicago would lose this game 27-34.
Chicago was unable to replicate their performances on offense from the past 2 weeks, as in week 10 they were unable to do anything until the second half. Late in the third quarter Chicago scored a touchdown, Sidekick lined up for the extra point, and his kick was right down the middle, scoring one point for Chicago. Early in the fourth quarter Chicago scored another touchdown. Sidekick attempted the extra point, and his kick was good for the second, and final time this game.
In week 11 Chicago showed some offense early as they scored a field goal late in the first quarter. It was a 41 yard attempt, sent through the uprights by Sidekick. Early in the second quarter Chicago scored their first touchdown of the game, Sidekick attempted the extra point, and his kick successfully went through the uprights. Early in the fourth quarter Chicago scored another touchdown. Sidekick walked onto the field for the extra point attempt. His kick was good. Late in the fourth quarter Sidekick lined up for a 33 yard field goal attempt, his kick was once again good. As time ran out, Chicago scored a game winning touchdown, Sidekick successfully scored the extra point, securing the win for Chicago.
In week 12, Chicago scored their first points of the game in the second quarter. They sent out their kicker, Sidekick to attempt a 27 yard field goal attempt. His kick went through the uprights, and scored Chicago three points. Late in the second quarter, Chicago scored a touchdown. Sidekick lined up for the extra point attempt, and secured another point for Chicago. Halfway through the third quarter Sidekick attempted another field goal, this time a 25 yard attempt. His kick was good for the third time this game. Halfway through the fourth quarter Chicago scored another touchdown. Sidekick's kick was once again good as he scored another point for Chicago.
In week 13 Chicago got off to a quick start as less than five minutes into the game they scored a touchdown. Sidekick lined up for the extra point, and his kick was good. Late in the first quarter Chicago scored their second touchdown of the game. Sidekick lined up for the extra point again, and his kick was good again. Early in the third quarter Chicago scored their third touchdown of the game. Sidekick's third extra point attempt of the game was good. Halfway through the third quarter Sidekick walked onto the field to attempt not an extra point, but a field goal, this one from 30 yards out. His kick was right down the middle, scoring three points for Chicago. Early in the fourth quarter Sidekick was tested with another field goal attempt, this time from 31 yards. His kick was good for the fifth time this game. late in the fourth quarter Chicago scored their fourth touchdown of the game, Sidekick remained perfect on the game by successfully kicking the ball through the uprights, scoring another point for Chicago.
In week 14 Chicago got off to a slower start as they scored their first points halfway through the second quarter. Chicago scored a touchdown off of a 10 yard pass. Sidekick lined up for the extra point attempt, and his kick was good. Late in the second quarter Chicago sent Sidekick out onto the field to attempt a 33 yard field goal. His kick was good for the second time this game. Late in the third quarter Sidekick attempted his third kick of the game, a 30 yard field goal attempt. His kick was once again good.
In week 15 Chicago scored their first points halfway through the first quarter. These points were scored off of a touchdown. Sidekick attempted the extra point, and his kick was good. Early in the second quarter Chicago scored their second touchdown of the game. Sidekick's second extra point attempt of the game was good. Late in the third quarter Chicago scored their third touchdown of the game. Sidekick attempted his third extra point of the game. His kick was once again good. Halfway through the fourth quarter sent Sidekick onto the field to attempt a 47 yard field goal. His kick was right down the middle, and it was good, scoring another three points for Chicago. Late in the fourth quarter Chicago scored another touchdown. Sidekick had been perfect in all kicks to this point, why would that change now? Sidekick lined up for the extra point, the ball was snapped, his foot made contact with the ball, and he missed the uprights wide left. The perfect season ended in week 15.
In week 16 Sidekick had already missed out on the chance for a perfect season. But he still had a perfect streak of field goals. His first kick of the game was a 40 yard field goal attempt early in the first quarter. He immediately missed it wide right. The perfect season was over for field goals now. Halfway through the first quarter Sidekick had a chance to make up for his previous miss by scoring Chicago's first points of the game. Sidekick lined up for a 38 yard field goal attempt. His kick was right down the middle, and scored Chicago's first points of the game. Early in the first quarter Chicago scored a touchdown, Sidekick lined up for the extra point, and his kick was good. Just 2 minutes later Chicago had a pick six, scoring another touchdown. Sidekick's extra point attempt was good, and scored another point for Chicago. Halfway through the second quarter Chicago scored their third touchdown of the game, Sidekick's fourth kick of the game was good. Early in the third quarter Chicago scored their fourth touchdown of the game. Sidekick's extra point attempt was once again good. Early in the fourth quarter Chicago scored another touchdown, Sidekick's extra point attempt was good for the fifth time this game. Late in the fourth quarter Chicago scored their final touchdown of the season as they punched the ball in from 4 yards out. Their final point scored of the season was an extra point attempt, scored by Sidekick.
