A Talk with Sabercats Quarterback Ethan Hunt[/div]

GIOVINCO: Hello and welcome back to the Afternoon Recap on 99.6 FM. I'm your host Mark Giovinco and today I'm here with a special guest from one of San Jose's more prominent sports teams, the San Jose Sabercats' Ethan Hunt. Ethan, first of all, thanks for coming.

HUNT: My pleasure Mark.

GIOVINCO: The season so far: describe it in one word.

HUNT: Turnaround, hahaha. It's been a great experience both playing for the Sabercats, not to mention we're really putting it together this season and are placing ourselves in a position to succeed both now and in the future.

GIOVINCO: About the future, there was a report last year about you wanting out of San Jose. Aside from the statement you released about an hour after that report and a statement from management, do you have anything to add? Maybe a change of heart now that the Sabercats are really seeing some good results?

HUNT: It was honestly childish of me. Plus word about that shouldn't have gotten out, since it was purely between my former agent, Hank Stanwell, and myself. I thought my contract was up at the end of that season, and I had the chance on testing the free agent market and hopefully land a starting spot with either an expansion team or another team. Since I only wanted it to be between Stanwell and I, you can only imagine how angry I was when I saw the article.

GIOVINCO: You and the entire Sabercats fanbase.

HUNT: Especially the fanbase. Without them, we'd all be out of jobs and would probably be working day jobs just like any ordinary Joe. But yeah, I have still yet to mend my relationship with the fanbase, since my future here is still somewhat uncertain. Would I like to re-sign in San Jose? Maybe, I'll have to think pretty long and hard about that. Would it be nice to re-open potential extensions with management? Sure, talks haven't hurt anyone. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind completely.

GIOVINCO: Now, I don't mean to jump the gun, but championships. Think the Cats have a chance at hoisting the Ultimus Trophy?

HUNT: We have as good of chance as the teams we're competing with. Football's a mix of skill and luck, and we'll have to play our best and have a ton of luck on our side to even make it to the finals. It's a pretty tough sport to play, both mentally and physically. I'm just happy to be part of one of the top teams in the league currently.

GIOVINCO: What do the Cats have to do in order to continue their success? I imagine it would have to rely both on you and the defensive line's ability to shut down opposing chances.

HUNT: Exactly that. I don't mean to be one of those guys, but the offence needs to keep going at its current pace in order to see more success. This means that both myself and Adams have to play our best from now until the end of the regular season just so we can figure out how we stack up against the top competition of the NSFL.

GIOVINCO: Alright, thanks for that Ethan. Now if you don't mind, I'm just going to open up the line for any incoming questions from our listeners.
