S27 Deadline Creates Announcement - iStegosauruz - 02-15-2021
It recently came to Head Office's attention that the DSFL Trade Deadline and ISFL Trade Deadline this season are about a week apart. This is abnormal and creates potential issues with how we traditionally allow "trade deadline" creates for the next rookie class to function. Essentially, a player who would create at the DSFL trade deadline of this season - which is traditionally the protocol - could potentially earn between 14 and 19 TPE over the normal amount a player can, at maximum, receive during their career. Due to how much focus there is on the lifetime TPE of a player and the records that various users hold for lifetime peak TPE a variety of different options were discussed including leaving the creation date for "trade deadline" creates this season at the DSFL Trade Deadline, moving that date to the ISFL Trade Deadline, or finding some middle ground between the two.
Eventually these options were put to a vote amongst the Head Offices and General Managers of both leagues. With 31 voting members - 8 DSFL teams, 14 ISFL teams, 4 DSFL Head Office Members, 5 ISFL Head Office Members - three options were voted on, with 23 votes needed to pass one:
1. Keeping the date at the DSFL Trade Deadline
2. Moving the date to Monday, February 22nd
3. Moving the date to the ISFL trade deadline.
As of right now Option 1 has 1 vote, Option 2 has 17 votes, and Option 3 has 7 votes. One voter has abstained from voting.
As is traditional with multi-tiered votes, Option 2 and Option 3 have been lumped together because they both deal with moving the traditional date. Together, Option 2 and Option 3 have 24 votes, enough to pass moving the deadline. Of those two choices, Option 2 has the most votes so it passes.
Effective immediately the creation date for the S29 class will be Monday, February 22nd. No new S29 creates will be approved until that point. This also means that S29 new creates will have to wait until their approval - which will be on or after that day - to earn TPE.

so a question for someone like Cue who retired assuming he would be recreating this week and thus use the TPE for his new player...can he get TPE this week and have one final update with his current player?
