ISFL S27 Hall of Fame Class - infinitempg - 02-16-2021

ISFL S27 Hall of Fame Ballot Results ISFL

As a quick summary, in order to be inducted into the Hall of Fame a player needs to be voted in by 2/3 of voters - if they receive 1/3 of the votes they will stay on the ballot for the next season.

As was passed in the S23 Rules Summit, we have formed a Hall of Fame Committee! The committee was made up of Ben, bwestfield, daybe, iamslm22, JuOSu, manicmav36, nunccoepi, PigSnout, and run_cmc!

Note: I want to note that a few people have asked me wondering how to request someone be nominated to the ballot in the future. Please reach out to a member of the Hall of Fame Committee and explain to them why you think someone should be nominated!

With these nine, our requirements are 6 votes to be inducted and 3 votes to stay on the ballot.

- ISFL Player Hall of Fame -

Now, I'm pleased to introduce our newest members of the International Simulation Football League Hall of Fame! Welcome to the Hall of Fame:
Raymond Vans (@karl), James Bishop (@Bwestfield), Thorian Skarsgard (@MrStennett), Cooter Bigsby (@timeconsumer), Corvo Havran (@Raven), Apollo Reed (@NylarthePhoenix), and Mo Berry (@Frick_Nasty)!

Raymond Vans - @karl - LB
ARI S13-S19
BAL S20-S21

Raymond Vans was drafted 19th overall in the S12 ISFL Draft to the Arizona Outlaws, where he spent the majority of his career. Vans played an integral role in the S16 Arizona Outlaws championship team, finishing the season with not only the Ultimus Trophy but the Defensive Player of the Year and Linebacker of the Year trophies as well. He was a consistent star of the Outlaws defensive unit, reaching 6 Pro Bowls in his 7 seasons with the team before signing with the Baltimore Hawks for his last two seasons. Vans finished his career as a fumble forcing machine, as he is tied for 7th place in career forced fumbles, but his playoff performances help set him apart from the crowd. He enters the record books tied for 1st in playoff forced fumbles, tied for 4th in playoff fumble return yards, and 6th in playoff sacks. This is the third ballot that Vans has appeared on, and it appears that the third time is the charm!

James Bishop - @Bwestfield - WR
COL S12-S23

James Bishop is another member of the legendary S12 ISFL Draft, taken 5th overall to the Colorado Yeti. Bishop remained a Yeti for his entire career (outside of being briefly selected by the Hahalua in the S22 Expansion Draft) where caught the game-winning touchdown in the S22 Ultimus comeback over the Otters. Bishop's best season came in S15 where he won both Offensive Player of the Year and Wide Receiver of the Year honors. While he didn't always put up large single-season statistics (making only 5 Pro Bowls in his 12 year career), his longevity and consistency helped him finish 6th in career receiving yards and tied for 9th in career receiving touchdowns. It was this that helped immortalize him as a member of the All-25 Second Team.

Thorian Skarsgard - @MrStennett - DT
OCO S13-S19, S22-S23
CHI S20-S21

Thorian Skarsgard wraps up our group of S12 draftees, taken just after James Bishop at 6th overall to the Orange County Otters. Skarsgard enters the Hall as one of the best defensive tackles of all time, and with one of the fullest trophy cases in recent memory with four Ultimus titles to his name (S13, S17, S18, and S19). An integral part of the Otters' second dynasty, Skarsgard won two Defensive Lineman of the Year awards (S14 and S16) as well as 6 Pro Bowl nominations. Outside of two seasons with Chicago, Skarsgard finished his career as an Otters legend in the regular season and post-season, ending his career 5th in career sacks, 1st in playoff sacks, and tied for 4th in playoff forced fumbles. Skarsgard's contributions to the ISFL were honored with his induction to the All-25 First Team.

Cooter Bigsby - @timeconsumer - QB
YKW S15 - S23

Cooter Bigsby was drafted 1st overall to the Yellowknife Wraiths in the S14 ISFL Draft. While his career with the Wraiths was marked with many painful playoff exits, he walked off into the sunset an Ultimus Champion in S23. Cooter's trophy case remains stuffed with many accolades, including two MVP awards (S18 and S22), the S22 Quarterback of the Year award, and the S15 Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Bigsby also made 7 Pro Bowls in his 9 seasons in the ISFL. Even in the much more run-heavy seasons of the ISFL, Cooter enters the Hall 4th in career passing yards and touchdowns, and 5th in career completions. His constant presence in the post-season also allowed him to finish 2nd in playoff completions, passing yards, and touchdowns. One of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Bigsby was honored as a member of the All-25 Second Team.

Corvo Havran - @Raven - QB
BAL S16-S21
HON S22-S23

Corvo Havran was drafted right after Cooter Bigsby, 2nd overall to the Baltimore Hawks. While his companion had more playoff success, Havran brought home the hardware with the S17 MVP award, the S21 Offensive Player of the Year award, the S21 Performance of the Year, and three straight Quarterback of the Year awards (S17, S18, and S19). The four time Pro Bowler spent his first six seasons with the Hawks before being taken in the S22 ISFL Expansion Draft by the Honolulu Hahalua, where he finished his career. Havran enters the Hall 10th in career passing touchdowns and passer rating, and 6th in single season passer rating. He also finished 7th in playoff passing yards and playoff passing touchdowns, and 8th in playoff completions over his 9 postseason games.

Mo Berry - @Frick_Nasty - LB
COL S15-S23

Mo Berry was taken by the Colorado Yeti 11th overall in the immense S15 ISFL Draft. Berry was a stalwart of the rebuilding Colorado Yeti defense for nine seasons, ranging from a 1-13 season to the S22 Ultimus championship. He is most well known for his trophy case bursting at the seams - Mo ended his career with Defensive Player of the Year awards in a row (S20, S21, and S22), five Linebacker of the Year awards (S18, S20, S21, S22, and S23), the S15 Defensive Player of the Year award, and 8 Pro Bowl nominations. Despite a short career, Berry finished 9th in career sacks and tied for 9th in career forced fumbles. Considered one of the best linebackers of all time, Berry was immortalized in the All-25 First Team.

Apollo Reed - @NylarthePhoenix - RB
OCO S15-S19
BAL S20-S23

Apollo Reed was the steal of the S15 ISFL Draft, taken 44th overall by the Orange County Otters. Reed served as the primary back for the back end of the Otters' second dynasty, winning three Ultimus titles with the team (S17, S18, and S19) before being traded to the Baltimore Hawks in S20 where he blossomed as one of the premiere receiving backs in the league. This peaked in S21, where Reed was honored as the Running Back of the Year. The four time Pro Bowler enters the Hall 9th in career rushing yards and touchdowns, but his playoff performances were legendary. Reed is tied for 1st in playoff rushing touchdowns, 4th in playoff rushing yards, and has the 4th longest playoff rush in ISFL history.

This season, we inaugurate the architect of arguably the greatest rebuild in ISFL history:

bovovovo - Bork Borkington
LVL S5
NOLA S6-S10

bovovovo was the General Manager of the New Orleans Second Line from S6 through S10, relocating the floundering Las Vegas Legion after being installed as GM in S5. The S8 and S9 GM of the Year finished his career with a record of 39-44-1, with his losses largely fueled by the gargantuan rebuild he had to undertake. Despite winning only 6 games in his first three seasons as LVL/NOLA GM, bovovovo managed to build what was arguably the greatest ISFL team of all time in the S9 Second Line. Bovovovo finished his career as a 3 time ASFC Champion (S8, S9, and S10) and 1 time Ultimus winner (S9).
