I'm posting this here because I don't feel like putting in enough effort to make this worthy of being media. However, I do want to share/talk about how easily things can unravel for a team. Insert some silly random well-written narrative introduction that leads into "Welcome to the Twilight Zone".
Here is Taco MacArthur enjoying his EBDBBnB BLT at the EBDBBnB on a fine Sunday morning. Unbeknownst to him, he has been living a hallucination for the last 9 months. It all started last May. While everyone else remembers him stepping down from his GM duties and breaking Tom Hanks heart by quitting DSFL HO after one single week; Taco has been believing he still is on the DSFL HO, he still receives 'come fuck me eyes' from Tom Hanks, and that he still GMs Baltimore.
How does the league look in Taco's eyes? Before the split in realities Taco posted Baltimore contracts for S22. In Taco's hallucination all his favorite players from that season, plus all the draftees from S23 draft are still on the team.
On Offense the team has QB Chika Fujiwara, RB Darrel Williams, TE Lewandowski, WR Asher Quinn, WR Doug Howlett, and WR Nick Kaepercolin. Even without a hypothesis as to who Taco drafts/acquire to replace Apollo Reed after his retirement, or potential OL the team gets, we are still looking at an offense of 6469 TPE currently on Sunday, February 21, 2021. Good enough to be the second best Offense in the league. Add in a second RB and a few human OL and Taco has easily built an offense 1000 tpe better than Arizona or Chicago, and higher tpe than SJS.
On Defense the team has LBs Derred de Ville and Dex Kennedy; CBs Avery, Ben Stackinpaper, Lesean Paris Crooks, Safety IHeart Syracuse; and DL Tyler Montain and Nuniq Annastesia. Those players alone are a defense of 7523 tpe today. Conservatively add (league average tpe) in a safety (803 tpe) and two more DL (790 tpe each), and Taco has built a defense of 9900+ tpe. That'd be the 5th best defense by tpe.
We all know what really happened. The moral question is is it better to let Taco keep living in his hallucination where his team is an annual playoff and Ultimus contender, or wake him up and inform him of the nightmare reality?
